General Hospital's Dominic Zamprogna talks torn opinions over Sam and Dante

No matter how you feel about General Hospital's Sam and Dante, you've got to admit it's refreshing to see something different at least, that's what actor Domonic Zamprogna says!

There's a pretty big divide between General Hospital fans over whether or not Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) make a good pair, with some absolutely loving the new couple and others yearning for the days when Dante was with Lulu (Emme Rylan) and Sam was with Jason (Steve Burton). As it turns out, Zamprogna perfectly understands the dilemma.

"I know it's a bit of a challenge for fans to see [new pairings]. But I think we might be winning some of them over," the actor opines in a new interview with TV Insider. "Fans fell hard for Dante and Lulu. I imagine it's an even more intense experience for 'JaSam' fans. I know it's a challenge. It's new."

As for how Zamprogna and Monaco feel about the pairing of their fictional alter egos, he says they're enjoying the new material and, like a lot of fans, are interested in the possibilities that lie ahead for the couple.

"Kelly and I were talking about Sam and Dante. I love that it's not what Dante and Lulu were," he explains. "You've got a contrarian dynamic between Sam and Dante. He's a cop. She's an ex-con/private eye. This is new territory for both of them. It's making some interesting stuff to play."

He continues, "We didn't rush the 'I love yous' with each other. They came out over time. I think more and more people are wanting to see where they could go."
