It's not hard to notice how General Hospital's Ava and Sonny have been growing closer than ever of late, with Ava even allowing her friendship with Nina to fall by the wayside. While some fans think this is a setup for an eventual Ava and Sonny romance that goes beyond the crypt sex that produced Avery, others wonder if Ava is up to no good.
Never forget that before she mellowed over the last five years or so, Ava was once the head of the Jerome crime family and could go head-to-head with the toughest mobsters. She never had a problem pulling the trigger when necessary (remember, she killed Connie Falconeri) and would go to great lengths to make sure she always came out on top.
When Ava revealed Jason's face to Sonny on Spinelli's video, she was quite insistent that Jason is one of the "bad guys" now and that he has to be after Sonny. As expected, Sonny didn't want to believe the one person he always trusted more than anyone in the world might be trying to kill him.
However, it looks like Ava somehow got into his head, because before the March 7 episode ended, Sonny looked Ava in the eye and told her that she might be the only person left he could trust, and Ava seemed to have a very subtle look telling us that it's just the way she wants it.
Fans took immediate notice and started wondering if the Ava and Sonny romance that's been hinted over the last few weeks could be a red herring for something bigger and more sinister on Ava's part.

If Ava is the one behind the mob hits, that would mean she also killed her own sister, Olivia Jerome. It would also mean that GH is poised to make her the villainess she once was. Only time will tell.
