What is man-in-the-know Perez Hilton doing on General Hospital?

Perez Hilton, the professional gossip blogger and media personality, made an appearance on the General Hospital set on June 11, according to the soap's official social media accounts.

"Breaking News: A very inquisitive guest swung by Port Charles today. We can't wait for you to see what @ThePerezHilton has in store for #GeneralHospital. Stay tuned! @PerezHilton #GH."

In the photo GH tweeted, Perez is decked out in a hot pink satin jacketm looking very much like the flamboyant and larger-than-life personality he always is.

Hilton, born Mario Armando Lavandeira, Jr., planned to become an actor but became a famed gossip columnist instead. He calls himself Perez Hilton in honor of his friend and socialite Paris Hilton. His website, Perezhilton.com, is a fountain of celebrity gossip information. The gossip, as well as bullying and the so-called outing of celebrities he believed to be gay, resulted in lawsuits against the blogger.

So, what is Hilton doing on GH? With Nina running the gossip side of the Invader, does she give Hilton a guest column? Perhaps he will land a job with Crimson. Will he be there for all the big Port Charles news like Days of our Lives' Lady Whistleblower, a.k.a. Leo Stark?

Maybe this is a hint that the Nurses Ball is returning, and we will see Hilton on the red carpet as the rich and famous and the not-so-rich and not-so-famous of Port Charles make their way into the Metro Court ballroom.
