General Hospital's Sonny has made it quite clear that retirement is on the agenda this year. He just has to figure out how to get there. We were wondering if GH also needed to find a way to get there, or if there was an ultimate plan from the start. Finally, we are starting to see where the show is most likely headed.

Will Sonny save Port Charles?

It's Sonny's city, and everyone else just lives there. Or at least that is what he implied to Laura when he called Port Charles his city and vowed that a violent criminal wouldn't be allowed to take it over. "Violence is coming to Port Charles," he announced, without a hint of self-awareness that he has been responsible for most of the violence in PC for more than 30 years.

But maybe Sonny taking down Sidwell and saving Port Charles from the latest big bad is exactly how Sonny gets out. All Sonny has to do to retire on an Upstate New York golf course for the rest of his life is save the day. Rather than committing crimes to add to his vast fortune and protect his family, Sonny will commit crimes to save his city from Jenz Sidwell, a man we don't quite understand, but one who might very well pick up the mantle from Sonny Corinthos.

Sonny couldn't just sell off his entire criminal enterprise after all these years and be the hero we know he's secretly always wanted to be. No, he has to DO something first. He needs to prove his worth so he can live his golden years exactly how he wants.

Sonny's retirement plans began at the start of the year. Now, at mid-year, we thought GH had abandoned those plans, but maybe this is a year-long arc that will result in exactly what Sonny (and Jason) both want. A life of peace. Jason can be a Q again and count coffee beans while Sonny can enjoy life with his grandkids just like he wants. He just has to perform an ultimate good deed first. That good deed just might be bringing down Sidwell.

Natalia's farewell tour

Before Sonny gets to lounge in a golf cart, he might have to beat another murder charge. He made the mistake of trusting this foolish woman who had some pretty awful things to say about his daughter last year, and then wanted to set her up in a whole new life just so she didn't screw up his entire current life. Well, Natalia screwed herself and may have screwed Sonny by blabbing when Sonny told her not to blab.

It's pretty clear that Natalia is about to meet her maker somehow. We originally thought she would succumb to a car bomb that we know Sonny would never set for a woman after what happened to Lily all those years ago. But now it looks like Charlie's is going to get blown to kingdom come on Monday. Who wants to bet Natalia goes on a bender after she ruins Daisy's funeral? It's pretty clear Sidwell is behind this upcoming mess, considering that he was staring at a photo of Kristina on Thursday, so would Sonny really be blamed for blowing up his own daughter's bar? If ADA Turner has anything to do with it, probably.

Gaslighting? Stalking? What is happening to Sasha?

Everyone is trying to guess what is really happening to Sasha and Daisy. We originally thought Willow was going to snap and kidnap the baby as revenge on Sasha for having Michael's child and Willow losing custody of hers and Michael's children, but now we wonder if someone is trying to drive Sasha insane. That would be par for the course for Sasha. She needs to be emotionally tortured somehow, so why not gaslight her?

Between the mix-up in the hospital, the mobile music, and Baby Daisy's quick change, it does feel like someone wants Sasha to question her sanity. Perhaps she didn't even put the milk in the cupboard. Whoever is torturing her may have done it just so Sasha would think she had "mommy brain" and wonder if she was the one who put Daisy in the pink onesie after all.

But, as an aside — SWADDLE THAT CHILD, SASHA! Maybe it's our own mommy brain that can't handle seeing that (very mature) newborn being put to bed smiling, cooing, and just hanging out in a onesie. We assume the Q mansion is air conditioned and it's running at full force in the dead of summer, so yeah, wrap that baby up or we might jump through the TV and do it ourselves. Brrr...

Weeping Willow made NuMichael cry

That's another strike against this dummy of a delusional character. She brought our beloved NuMichael to tears. How dare she?!?!? This dopey girl stood there in front of Michael and declared that Drew is the much better catch because he respects her and doesn't try to control her.

Tears flowed from Michael's eyes as we sat there with our jaws on the floor because, in more than 45 years of watching soaps, we have truly never seen a dumber character than Little Miss Willow Tait, aka Callie Miller. There is nothing anyone can say to this case study in male dependence that will get through to her, so she can go ahead and marry Drew, move to DC, and join other wives who stand by their creepy husbands' side, cause that's the American way.

Where's our spin-off, GH?

ABC's soap lineup doesn't exactly exist since it only has one soap and a whole lot of people sitting around talking about nothing in Manhattan. So, why not add a new show we can call The Tracy and Marty Comedy Hour? It can be the GH lead-in and 43 minutes (without commercials) of Jane Elliot and Michael E. Knight arguing with one another. It would be ratings gold, and then maybe GH can have a budget for real location shoots again. Use what you have, ABC. You have Tracy and Marty, and they are everything we need for one hour every single day of the week.

Oh, that's right. Tracy screwed with Drew this week, Marty fell off a platform, Tracy tried to make a .gif of it and it was all wonderful and sublime. What we want to know is why she was not at Daisy's christening. Since Tracy is essentially now the Quartermaine matriarch, wouldn't she want to attend the christening of the latest Q? Make it make sense. And give us Tracy as much as we can get her.

So, Rocco saw the file, and...

What is up with GH's habit of leaving you with quite a little cliffhanger at the end of one episode and not following up at all in the next episode? On Thursday, Danny found a file labeled "Rocco Falconeri" sitting out amongst Brook Lynn's work things and handed it to Rocco. This file contained Rocco's entire bizarre origin story, something that Rocco is not aware of. However, we will assume he is aware of it now since he saw the file, but um...a reaction? Some fallout? Something? ANYTHING?!?!

Perhaps Rocco, a 15-year-old who naturally has impulse control issues due to his age, was able to control himself and not look at someone else's file, even if it had his name on it. However, that wouldn't make any sense. Rocco has to have looked at this file, but why no follow-up? Will we learn his reaction before school starts in the fall?

What did Alexis say to Elizabeth?

We don't know because not only did GH drop the ball with a follow-up to Rocco's find, but it also never followed up on Alexis calling Elizabeth back over to talk, just as Ric was ready to approach Liz again. Instead, he hid around a corner, ready to listen in on their conversation, except we never heard the conversation because GH forgot what happened from one episode to another. Liz, Ric, and Alexis were nowhere to be seen on Thursday when they had a cliffhanger-like ending on Wednesday. Again, WHY?!?!?

Portia has a point. So does Jordan.

It was fun watching Portia and Jordan fight it out over one man at the Metro Court pool. We enjoyed Jordan throwing a drink in Portia's face because Jordan was right about one thing. Portia did indeed horn in on Jordan and Curtis' marriage the second she re-entered her long-ago lover's life. However, it was Curtis who ended the union for a really dumb reason. She didn't tell him she knew who had kidnapped TJ because she wanted to protect her son. That was a bridge too far for Curtis, cause Curtis is not a do what I say kinda guy.

Portia also had a point when she told Curtis that what's good for him is just not good for her. He can keep secrets and lie, but she can't. How fair is that? Well, it's not. That's why we have to wonder if Curtis is even worth it. He is starting to remind us of the Ridge Forrester of Port Charles, and Portia and Jordan are Brooke and Taylor. While this mess has not been going on since the 1980s, the scenario feels awfully familiar, and we need it to end now. Ladies, go have some lunch, cause this man is just not worth your time.

Till next week, Scoopers, when we may — or may not (we are going with may) — see Natalia's swan song.
