The Hand That Rocks the Cradle: General Hospital Two Scoops for the Week of July 7, 2025

It looks like General Hospital's Willow really is nuttier than a fruitcake, just as we thought. That moment when she woke up in an ER bed after her courtroom meltdown was a turning point for Willow. Did she emerge from her zombie state with a brand-new personality, or is she just plain insane? We don't know yet, but we do know her little brand of crazy is running poor Sasha right out of Port Charles, which is just another strike against her in our book.

Super stalker Willow is all about the babies

When Willow was first introduced to the GH scene, the third-grade teacher landed smack dab in the middle of a baby switch story involving her own dead newborn. However, it took nearly two years for Willow to learn that her baby boy died not long after his adoptive dad, Brad, brought him home from the hospital. Since Lucas believed Willow was Wiley's birth mom (Brad knew otherwise), he let her into the baby's life, so Willow grew attached to Wiley as her son.

When she learned her baby had died and Brad and Nelle switched him with Nelle's healthy son, she had an ER room meltdown that broke our hearts. This was when she still liked Willow — loved her even — because she hadn't become the stuck-up, insipid little priss who can never do any wrong in her own delusional eyes. Back then, she was Chase's sweet girlfriend, who had been duped in a baby switch, as Michael was.

Flashforward six years, and Willow is almost unrecognizable, but still baby-obsessed. The school teacher turned nurse has made one mistake after another and takes absolutely no accountability for anything she has done. In fact, she seems to see herself as the victim in her current situation, forgetting about the fact that she initiated that first kiss with Drew and then proceeded to lie about it for months before initiating a second one. Willow did all of this to herself, but she will never see it that way.

Instead, she is borrowing Sasha's baby whenever she has the whim. Is it DID or is Willow just plain nuts? Either way, this story has to amount to something other than Sasha leaving town, right?

Sasha's ready to do a runner

For some reason, Sasha thinks she has to high-tail it out of Port Charles because someone has been sneaking into her baby's nursery. Installing another nanny cam or beefing up security on a million-dollar estate isn't the answer. Taking the baby and going into hiding is.

If Sasha just ups and leaves town with Daisy, what is Willow going to do? Her newfound insanity has to be seen through, or this is just a waste of a story. Willow can be insane in other ways, but it makes more sense for Willow to lose her mind over children and babies because that is who Willow has always been. She chose to study early education. She chose to give her late son up for adoption to keep him safe from his cult leader father. She chose Amelia's life over her own when she learned she had cancer while pregnant. She still can't see that she chose Drew over her kids, but that's our Willow.

And panicking after everything that's happened to her in the GH torture chamber is our Sasha. But this baby stalking story makes little sense and we refuse to believe it is nothing more than a plot point for us to lose Sasha. However, we do have to ask this one thing. Why is Willow nosing around Monica's house to play games with Sasha's baby due to missing her own kids when her own kids are in the next room? We want answers. And we want Sasha to stay put.

Lulu vs. BLQ — and their sons

If General Hospital is trying to turn Lulu and Brook Lynn into Carly and Nina or a modern-day Viki and Dorian, it's never going to happen, even if Lulu now works for Viki at the Banner. These two women are just plain petty and wrong. The difference is that Brook Lynn actually apologizes for her mistakes while Lulu just keeps on making them.

Brook Lynn did a bad, bad thing when she went looking into Rocco's origin story, but she feels bad. Lulu did a bad, bad thing when she dug into Brook Lynn's teenage pregnancy past, but she doesn't feel bad at all. Sure, she apologized to Gio, but it took her weeks to even think of it.

The only two people we really feel bad for here are Lulu and Brook Lynn's young sons, who now know they are brothers. Rocco now knows he is a soap opera baby, indeed, as only soap opera babies are born via stolen frozen embryos. Just ask Philip Kiriakis over in Salem. It's a lot for Rocco to process, but at least his impulsive teenage self is about to bring Liesl Obrecht back to town. Maybe we need to thank Lulu and Brook Lynn after all. Their petty rivalry will at least give GH the comic relief it has needed for the last 18 months.

Grandpa Sonny

Sonny has spent this year facing his mortality and longing for retirement, but something always gets in the way of his life-of-leisure plans. For years, all we have heard is how much Sonny wants to protect his kids, but he can never seem to get it right because he wants his kids in his life. However, he may be rethinking things.

The first time Gio called Sonny "Grandpa" was the day Sonny told Gio to stop coming around — for his own safety. Who was this man before us, defending Tracy? We never thought we would see the day. If Tracy had heard what Sonny told Gio, she might have passed out cold on the floor. We also know Gio is not going to do what he has been told by Grandpa and Great-Granny, so we may as well put out a danger alert now.

Kick that man to the curb, Trina

Who didn't want to give Trina a slow clap followed by a loud round of applause when she told Kai to get out of the Jerome Gallery and her life? Is there something wrong with that boy that he thought ratting out Trina's parents to Drew was going to win him Brownie points with his girlfriend? The look of shock on his face when Trina couldn't wait to be done with him was priceless. Trina told him over and over again that Drew had done some pretty rotten things to her folks, and he just did not care. It was unfathomable to this foolish young man that betraying your girlfriend is just not a good idea.

Yes, Trina is now heartbroken, but Kai is no Spencer, mainly cause Spencer was smarter than Kai would be able to see right through Drew Q for You. Ewww.

Ewww, Drew is back. Sigh

We had a nice break from Drew for an entire week, but unfortunately, it couldn't last forever. We guess Drew just HAD to be in DC last week for a very important vote that will change the landscape of America forever, but he couldn't wait to get back to Port Charles and wreak havoc on local lives, as well as national ones.

Drew's scenes with Willow were as stomach-turning as ever, but all we wanted to do was punch Drew like a common Jason Morgan when he gleefully threatened a man who used to be his best friend. Drew takes joy in every horrible thing he does, which is why Trina did what she had to do. So again, three cheers for our girl Trina Robinson.

Why does Ric have to be Ric?

Yes, Ric is the messiest man in the world, just like Lucas said. However, that chemistry between Rick Hearst and Rebecca Herbst is as strong as ever and we know Ric really, really, really loves Elizabeth and always has. He'd go to the ends of the Earth for her, but unfortunately, he'd still lie and keep secrets from her during his end-of-the-Earth travels. Cause that's who Ric is.

Sadly, Elizabeth knows this, so she's friend-zoned Ric. Which means Ric is back to trying to woo Ava in his own Ric kind of way. But even Ava knows who Ric really wants to be with. If he weren't such a (charming) louse, we'd want him to be with Elizabeth, too. But we guess she deserves better, and Jason is available, so...

Yeah, it's never going to happen for Ric and Elizabeth. And it's never going to happen for Jason and Elizabeth. Because the audience and Elizabeth can't have nice things.

But we can have a funeral for Natalia on Monday, so there's that. Till next week, Scoopers, when Port Charles says goodbye to someone nobody really liked anyway.
