Unlucky in love: General Hospital's Josslyn just can't seem to get it right

Has there ever been a young soap heroine more unlucky in love than General Hospital's Josslyn Jacks? No matter how hard she tries, she just can't seem to find a romance that lasts. Whether tragedy strikes or her own decision-making gets in the way, Josslyn hasn't had much love luck.

Another one bites the dust?

Josslyn's (Eden McCoy) latest romance with S.Vaughn (that's it, we have no idea what his first name actually is) looks like it's just about dead cause Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) could be dead, or at least in another land far, far away. As soon as Jack (Chris McKenna) learned that Vaughn and Joss were still seeing one another, he had some WSB "goons" haul him off to parts unknown.

That seemed to signal the end of another one of Josslyn's romances, one that was more underdeveloped than the last, and that is saying a lot. Josslyn's last romance ended a year ago when Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) stabbed Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) before injecting Digitalis into his IV, killing him. We didn't know much about Dex, but at least we knew his full name. We also knew he had a troubled childhood, was in the service, and liked college football, but that was about it.

Josslyn even seemed to love Dex, but with Vaughn, it only seemed to be about sex. We almost never even saw him in scenes unless he was with Josslyn. There was nothing to him and nothing to their relationship, which appears to be the theme for Josslyn's adult romances.

At least Josslyn's teenage love stories had a little more substance, but no more luck. Joss' first love, Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt), died from brain cancer while they were still in high school. She turned to her best friend, Cameron (William Lipton), for comfort after Oscar died, and a real love story developed.

However, when Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) decided to record Joss and Cam's first time having sex and blast it all over the internet, tension developed, and they could never quite get it together again. That left Josslyn vulnerable to falling for Dex, so she cheated on Cameron and ruined the only truly promising relationship she's ever had.
