Tamara Braun dishes on why her GH return gave her the giggles

General Hospital's Tamara Braun opens up about being back in Port Charles and the funny realization that made her bust out laughing.

Tamara Braun is back on General Hospital today in the new role of Oscar's mom, Kim Nero. And she teases that the character is pretty similar to her previous Port Charles alter ego, Carly, in quite a funny way.

"I did two shows my first day back and it was a lot," she tells Soap Opera Digest. "It actually made me laugh because on my first day ever on General Hospital, never having worked on a soap opera, not knowing or understanding the pace, I thought, 'Oh, my God, I am going to die.' Because Carly spoke so much and didn't shut up that day back when I first started. Then I got my new character and I was like, 'I'm not at a loss for words here, either!' I thought it was great and very apropos to being back at GH. It was a lot of good stuff that I hope everyone enjoys!"

News that the Emmy-winning actress would be returning to GH first broke back in October. Interestingly enough, she's not the first actress to have played Carly and returned in a new role; Sarah Brown, who played Carly from 1996 to 2001, returned as Claudia Zacchara in 2008.

In addition to her GH work, Braun has starred as All My Children's Reese Williams and Days of our Lives' Ava Vitali, the role that won her an Emmy.
