General Hospital star Rick Springfield (ex-Dr. Noah Drake) is thrilled to be returning to the 1980s via his upcoming role on ABC's The Goldbergs.

Forget Jessie's Girl. General Hospital's Rick Springfield (ex-Dr. Noah Drake) may soon be crooning about Murray's girl now that he's headed for a guest-starring role on The Goldbergs.

The musician/actor is set to appear on the third episode of the ABC sitcom's upcoming sixth season as Erica Goldberg's new boss, the owner of a karaoke bar called Gary-oke's.

"At last I get to play a guy from the 80s," wrote Springfield on Twitter. "I'm excited to guest star on The Goldbergs and return back to 1980-something!"

The Goldbergs follows the lives of patriarch Murray, matriarch Beverly, and their three kids Erica, Barry, and Adam. The show is loosely based on the showrunner's childhood and shows the reality of the 80s through a young boy's eyes.

Springfield, who's known as the singer of the 1981 hit Jessie's Girl, starred as GH's Noah from 1981 to 1983. He returned to the series from 2005 to 2007 and has made appearances on-again, off-again since that time. His other acting credits include Supernatural, Californication, Suddenly Susan, and High Tide.
