There have been many mentions of Nikolas Cassadine as of late on General Hospital, which has definitely piqued fans' interest. After all, legions of daytime fans would love to see Tyler Christopher reprise the role he originated in 1996. But are the rumors true?
While GH has yet to comment on whether or not there's a chance Nikolas will return to the canvas, Christopher has taken to social media with a post that seems to imply there is a chance viewers might get to see the Cassadine bad boy again.
"You are all very sweet to be so loyaI as you always are," the actor wrote in response to the return rumors. "I know they are talking about Nikolas as of late. I've always said I would never close that door from my side. I just want to thank you all for always rooting for me and the character. I grew up with him as many of u have."

Christopher's latest post isn't the only GH mention the actor has made recently. He has dropped a couple of hints on social media that sparked buzz about a possible return, including a screengrab of Nikolas from his very early days.
Wo! Who's that dude? https://t.co/ltvXhwjbCy- Tyler Christopher (@Tyler2929) July 15, 2019
Christopher last aired as Nikolas Cassadine back in May 2016, following a reported contract breakdown between him and the ABC soap opera. As fans of the show may recall, Nick Stabile stepped in as a short-term replacement to film the character's exit arc.
Shortly after leaving GH, Christopher was cast as Days of our Lives' Stefan DiMera. He made his last appearance in the role back in March, later revealing that he had to part ways with the NBC series for personal reasons. That same month, it was announced that former GH star Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny Zacchara) would be taking over the role.
As for GH's Nikolas, he is currently presumed dead, but if he were to be revealed as alive and kicking, it wouldn't be the first time! Here's hoping the fan-favorite character is indeed set for another resurrection and that Christopher returns to the daytime role that made him famous.
