Questions are swirling over the fate of General Hospital's Nelle (Chloe Lanier), who went over a cliff during a confrontation with Carly (Laura Wright) at the end of August. Her body hasn't been found, and while some presume that she's dead, others worry that the troublemaking character is still out there somewhere. So, which is it?
While GH is keeping details about the storyline under wraps, She Knows reports that Lanier has indeed wrapped her time at the ABC soap opera -- for now, at least. "This is a soap -- and this is Nelle we are talking about -- so never say never," the outlet teases.
Lanier made her GH debut as a young Patricia Spencer in flashback scenes that aired in 2015. The actress wowed in her performances, which sparked the show's executives to bring her back the following year in the newly created role of Nelle. After just two years of playing the love-to-hate character, Lanier decided to exit GH so she could focus on primetime and film projects -- her comedy film, The Reveal, which also stars Josh Swickard (Harrison Chase, GH) and Brytni Sarpy (Elena Dawson, The Young and the Restless; ex-Valerie Spencer, GH), being one of them. The actress returned to GH in 2019 and has been on recurring status since that time.
It's anyone's guess whether or not Nelle survived her fall over the cliff, but if the character turns out to be alive, Soap Central will give you the details about Lanier's return if and when they become available. Until then... may Nelle rest in peace. After all, no one else in Port Charles will be able to with questions about her fate haunting them at every turn!
