General Hospital fans probably don't care whether the Quartermaine family eats pizza or turkey for the holidays, just as long as Tracy Quartermaine is part of the action. And it looks like she might be joining this year's family feast, because Jane Elliot is reportedly stepping back into her popular GH role!
Soap Opera Digest broke news of the actress' return on its latest cover, but further details about when Tracy will be back in Port Charles remain unclear. Therefore, viewers will have to wait and see if the fan-favorite character will be back in time for the Quartermaine family's traditional pizza pie Thanksgiving gathering -- or if it'll just be traditional drama that brings her back to the fold.
There's no word yet about how long Elliot will be on the canvas, but as she retired from acting when she walked away from the ABC soap opera in 2017, it's likely going to be a short stint.
"I have logged enough man hours in front of the camera that I can actually retire with a pension from my union, something I am extremely proud of. But, as far as acting goes, I am full. I am satiated," she shared when news of her retirement first made the rounds. "There are people [at GH] who have been a part of my life for 38 years and I will miss them dearly, but I want to keep growing, learning new things, living in new places, in order to expand my mind. Thank God for soap operas, I have raised two kids who are now grown and on their own. This has been the best job possible for any actor who is a mom... but I do look forward to the day when I can get on with my life. I am ready to hang up my panty hose!"
Elliot's last appearance on GH was in February of this year, when Tracy got fed up with Nelle's (Chloe Lanier) reign of terror and took off to Amsterdam.
