Actor and singer Robert Palmer Watkins (ex-Dillon Quartermaine, General Hospital) has signed with B Martin's Purpose Driven Artists record label and will be releasing his first single in May.

General Hospital fans enjoyed the acting talents of Robert Palmer Watkins during his 2015-2017 run as Dillon Quartermaine, and now they'll be able to fully immerse themselves in his singing talents, as well. The actor has signed a record deal with B Martin's brand-new label, Purpose Driven Artists, and will be releasing music in the pop and R&B genres under the stage name "Palmer."

According to an official press release, Watkins' first single is set to be released on all digital platforms on May 28. Titled "Waiting," the song is about one of the actor's past relationships.

"She lived in Atlanta, I was in LA, and both being in the industry, we were always waiting on each other's calls," he explains. "There's so much truth living inside this record that I feel like anybody can relate to it."

Watkins also shares his enthusiasm about working with B Martin, a Los Angeles-based music producer, rapper, and singer-songwriter who launched Purpose Driven Artists in April 2021 to give young creatives a shot without them being taken advantage of by the music industry.

"I'm super excited to be signing with him and Purpose Driven Artists and feel so confident about these fire songs we've developed," Watkins says. "B Martin and I always go from deep conversations straight into songwriting. We pull from purposeful, real-life scenarios and manifest songs."

Adds Martin, "When I met Rob, I knew he had star power, but when I heard him sing over an acoustic guitar -- I knew he had recording artist star power. We wrote one song on a drive back from San Diego, and things clicked. After doing a few more, we decided to take it to the next level and do a full eight-song and eight-video project. We pitched it to exec producer Leah Sturgis, and we are now ready to release our first single, 'Waiting,' in May of 2021."

Robert Palmer Watkins starred as GH's Dillon from 2015 to 2017. Some of his other credits include Last Three Days, Cupid's Match, Frat House Musical, Sketch Juice, Last Life, Green Valley, The Walking Dead: World Beyond. The actor first revealed that he was working with B Martin back in April of 2020, at which point he also said that he hoped to return to GH one day.

B Martin (who is also known as Brendan Martin) is a New York native whose music career spans over ten years, including shooting over 100 music videos, writing over 1,000 songs, and writing top 20 Billboard dance hits with over 10 million streams as a writer and 15 million as an artist. His notable accomplishments include being the winner of Hot 97's "Who's Next" and being named Best Hip Hop Artist in New York by J. Cole at the "Battle of the Best" at SXSW. Throughout his career, B Martin has shared the stage with Kendrick Lamar at Summer Jam and opened for J. Cole and Mac Miller while touring all over the East Coast. He's also collaborated on songs with T-Pain, Kendrick Lamar, and Cory Gunz of Young Money.
