Guiding Light stars reunite for new play written by Michael O'Leary

Guiding Light's Grant Aleksander (ex-Phillip Spaulding), Michael O'Leary (ex-Rick Bauer), and Tina Sloan (ex-Lillian Raines) have teamed up with The Young and the Restless' Cynthia Watros (ex-Kelly Andrews) for the world premiere of Breathing Under Dirt.

Guiding Light alums Grant Aleksander (ex-Phillip Spaulding), Michael O'Leary (ex-Rick Bauer), and Tina Sloan (ex-Lillian Raines) along with The Young and the Restless' Cynthia Watros (ex-Kelly Andrews; ex-Annie Dutton, GL) will all be starring in the world premiere of Breathing Under Dirt, a play written by O'Leary himself.

"Breathing Under Dirt is a 1950s play that grapples with unresolved resentments between a mother and daughter," the actor says. "The ultimate message is to reach forgiveness and reconciliation while we still have life."

The show will be playing at the Ella Fitzgerald Performing Arts Center on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, located in Princess Anne, Maryland, on Saturday, August 13, at 2PM and 7PM and Sunday, August 14, at 2PM. Tickets are $40 and $75. The $75 ticket includes an exclusive Meet & Greet opportunity with the cast after the performance for autographs and photographs. To purchase tickets, call (443) 614-0830 or (757) 894-0833 or visit www.lowershorepac.com.

Emmy-nominated O'Leary played the popular GL character of Dr. Rick Bauer from 1983 until the show's finale in 2009. In addition to Breathing Under Dirt, the actor also wrote the play Red Rain. Emmy-winner Cynthia Watros took home the Outstanding Lead Actress trophy for her brilliant portrayal of GL's devious nurse Annie Dutton, which she played from 1994 to 1998. She also appeared in shows such as MTV's Finding Carter, Y&R, Lost, House, and Titus. Emmy-nominated Grant Aleksander played GL's golden boy Phillip Spaulding off and on from 1982 until the show's finale. He also appeared in and/or directed All My Children, Capitol, and As The World Turns. Tina Sloan played GL's long-suffering Lillian Raines from 1982 until the show's finale. She is the author of the book Changing Shoes and the upcoming Cleopatra's Cat.
