20. Sunk Cost Fallacy

Sunk Cost Fallacy is an important psychological principle where people continue to invest in relationships or other individuals, even when the situation has reached a dead end. This happens because people believe that they have invested a lot in the past and should therefore continue to do so. While dating, a partner often hesitates to break away from a long-term relationship, sometimes simply because it has been going on for many years and they are used to the other person.
