After the infamous UHC CEO shooting incident, locals went all-in on a bizarre new contest: the UHC CEO Shooter Lookalike Challenge. New Yorkers, being New Yorkers, gathered at Washington Square Park where eight contestants, dressed in hooded outerwear and face masks, stood surrounded by dozens of people cheering them.

The winner was awarded 50$ and told The New York Post that his winning outfit which included a mask with a jacket did not take much effort because:

“I got no looks until I got over here and now everyone wants a picture with me... I wear this everywhere.”

Now, the internet is running wild reactions to the winner's interview posted by an X user. The user captioned the post:

"NEW: New Yorkers hold a UnitedHealthcare CEO k*ller lookalike competition. The following person was the winner. 'I'm glad people do not feel great about the current state of things & are willing to openly express that.' He looks a little too similar."

Some users were not happy with the UHC CEO shooter contest and thought it was in bad taste.

"Absolutely deranged," wrote one X user.
"Lock em all up!," echoed another.
"Glorifying a k-ller is not okay. Just a reminder, the FBI is now offering $50,000 to anyone who can help them find and arrest the suspect." tweeted another user.

Making a grave observation about the ethical implications of glorifying a killer or mocking a tragic situation, even while some acknowledged frustration, an X user wrote:

"A father was stolen from his family and you guys do this? Despicable. I don't care how bad you think the health insurance industry is, this is not the way."
"This is so strange and sad, especially for the victim's family. I'm all for learning how people have been hurt and victimized by insurance company practices, but I dont think all of the people inhumanely cheering on this death have been personally impacted (to a severe degree)." chimed in another user.

Other users seemed to side with the contest and thought it was a way for people to describe frustrations with the health insurance industry.

"Man, people really hate our insurance companies. We feel ripped off by super high premiums, and feels like they cover less and less," wrote a user.
"This sounds both humorous and a sharp critique of the healthcare system—public frustration is clearly driving creative forms of expression," noted a user

Some users also hailed the shooter's skill to have evaded the cops so far:

"I hope that’s him and we can add winning a lookalike contest of himself to his list of accomplishments," joked another.
"Hiding in plain sight? Imagine if this was actually the killer.. another user urged people to ponder.
"If cops or feds aren’t all over that competition screening people in some way they don’t want him caught.," wrote another user.

Are the police any closer to catching the UHC CEO shooter?

As reported by WNBC, investigators have also gathered over 200 images of the suspect, including footage of him wearing the backpack and riding an electric bike shortly after the murder.

Meanwhile, a backpack that was found filled with monopoly money and a jacket is also being tested for DNA and other forensic evidence.

According to Mayor Adams, the investigation will soon conclude with the 'net tightening' around the killer.
