Search and rescue efforts for Durant High School Coach Will Robinson’s 8-year-old daughter continued on its third day this Thursday. Her body went missing after her family's vehicle got caught in a drainage ditch in Texas, and was consequently carried away by the current of the water on Christmas Eve.

Will Robinson's body was also missing initially, though he was later found dead. As for the rest of his family, his wife and the remaining three children were extradited to safety. Per the Daily Mail, Lieutenant Samuel Boyle said:

"It likely had to do with a large accumulation of water and maybe some hydroplaning, which is a very dangerous situation. Once they're in that drainage ditch, they're really at the mercy of the water flow and the speed at which that's going down. It's a tragedy, it really is."

Here's everything we know about Will Robinson's 8-year-old daughter's remains as authorities say search and rescue is difficult at this time

Reportedly, the single-vehicle accident took place at around 9:30 a.m. on December 24, leaving the family of six trapped in the SUV. The vehicle was trapped near U.S. 75 and Taylor Street before being carried away.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott approved the use of state search and rescue teams to locate Will Robinson's girl's body. Per The Daily Mail and CBS News, by Wednesday, crews expanded their search efforts to the vicinity outside Sherman, including Post Oak and Choctaw creeks. By that evening, however, crews had already ravaged through seven miles of creek bed, to no avail.

The following day, the Sherman police department resumed the efforts as they joined forces with other state and local agencies. However, authorities have since revealed that the unfavorable weather conditions in the area have hampered the chances of success. Per the Daily Mail, police said late Wednesday afternoon:

"Extensive searches have been ongoing the past 36 hours. As of this time, efforts to locate the 8-year-old girl have not been successful." Lastly, but most importantly, we ask everyone to please respect the privacy the family is asking for at this time, in this unimaginable period of grief. When we have an update to this case that we can share, we will let everyone know."

The statement went on:

"Sherman, you all are relentlessly kind in many ways – how you continually want to bring us snacks and beverages, for example. Respectfully, we do not need anything else at this time. Receiving those donations requires some work, and right now, 100 percent of our efforts need to be focused on finding this 8-year-old girl."

At the time of writing, there have been no more updates on the location of Will Robinson's daughter's remains.
