What is Fort Eisenhower?
Fort Eisenhower serves as a key training hub for military signal and cyber operations, hosting the United States Army Cyber Center of Excellence, the Signal and Cyber Regiments, and the National Security Agency (NSA) in Georgia. It plays a crucial role in preparing military personnel from all branches in cyber and communications operations.
The base is located within a few hours of Georgia's coast, the bustling city of Atlanta, and the scenic mountains. It was originally known as Camp Gordon and was re-assigned as Fort Eisenhower in the fall of 2023.
Established in July 1941, Fort Eisenhower originally functioned as a training facility during World War II, preparing troops from the 4th and 26th Infantry Divisions and the 10th Armored Division. The base was named after LTG John Brown Gordon, a distinguished Georgian who served as a soldier, legislator, and businessman. After World War II, the base transitioned into a U.S. Army Personnel and Separation Center.
