Jeremy Cole, an Endicott College Police Sergeant, was recently killed in a car crash. The crash took place on Interstate 95 in Newbury, Massachusetts, on the holiday of Thanksgiving. The college is mourning his tragic passing and writing he was a gentle being.

According to CBS, Massachusetts State Police stated Cole was driving his Chevrolet Trailblazer on 95 North in Newbury after midnight. It was that time when a Tesla, which was coming from the wrong way, slammed into his SUV and the two cars suffered a major collision.

Both drivers were trapped in their cars for about an hour during the operation of extracting them from their respective vehicles. Upon extraction, Sgt. Jeremy Cole died at the scene.

On the other hand, the Tesla driver suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. The driver's name has been kept under wraps, although he is described as a man in his 40s from southeastern Massachusetts.

Following the accident, Endicott College released a statement announcing Cole's passing.

"We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of Sergeant Jeremy Cole, a dedicated member of our Campus Public Safety and Police Department for 15 years. Jeremy’s kindness, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to our community will never be forgotten," read the post.

Throughout his time at Endicott College, Jeremy Cole seemingly touched many hearts. The community of the college is mourning his passing and mentioning how he was a humble man. A Facebook user named JJ Dennehy penned how Cole was a kind soul who always ensured the well-being of others.

"Today, my heart is heavy as I reflect on the loss of Sergeant Jeremy Cole, or as I always called him, 'Sarge.' He wasn’t just a familiar face at Endicott College," wrote Dennehy.
"He was a true friend who always took the time to ask how I was doing—and he genuinely cared about the answer."

An alumnus of the college called Cole "one of the nicest" employees. The user also revealed details about their interaction with the late sergeant.

"He was there my freshman year in 2013 and every interaction I had with him was positive. I think everybody who came across him would agree. This is so, so sad. I feel so bad for his friends and family. I’ll be keeping them in my thoughts. Rest in peace Sgt. Cole."

Another one wrote that they knew Cole and called him a "good man and father and husband."
