UA Little Rock basketball student manager Josh Claxton passed away on Saturday morning. The football team confirmed that Claxton was in a crash which took away his life. As his tragic death has left his close ones in shock, many are penning heartfelt notes for him and describing how he was an integral part of their lives.
The official Facebook page of Little Rock Basketball released a statement revealing how the team has lost Claxton. Moreover, they also postponed an upcoming game to honor Claxton. The game was initially scheduled at 3 pm.
"Saturday morning the Little Rock men's basketball team tragically lost student manager Josh Claxton in a car accident. Due to these unforeseen circumstances, the game set for today vs Eastern Illinois will be postponed."
It continued -
"The Little Rock Department of Athletics, Eastern Illinois, & the Ohio Valley Conference are working collaboratively to make best efforts to reschedule the game for a later date."
"Our thoughts are with Josh's family & those who loved him. He will be greatly missed," the statement concluded.
Netizens pay heartfelt tributes to Josh Claxton
Following the tragic passing of Claxton, his close ones are paying him heartwarming tributes. One of his former high school classmates and roommate shared a few pictures on their Facebook profile and penned how they had many plans for the future.
"This is unreal. We were supposed to go to cowboys games every season until we were old and our girls got way too sick of it. From high school to post college roomates…you are gone way too soon."
He further mentioned what kind of a person Josh Claxton was and wrote,
"Thank you so much for being completely you all the time and loving me for me all the time. Never questioned, never judged, you were always just there."
A user named Justin Allen mentioned how Claxton changed his life.
"Truly one of a kind. I know you’ll be cheering on dem Boyz from up above and I’ll cheer them on from down here. I’ll miss you everyday until we meet again brother."
