Disney's live-action Snow White is generating buzz before its March 21, 2025 release, but not all of it is good. A new clip with Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen has landed on the internet, generating some side-splitting reactions.

Gadot, famous for her role as Wonder Woman, is under fire for her acting, with some claiming she doesn't suit the role and that her acting is off.

Fans are trolling her "blank expressions", joking that they already want a refund—even though the movie hasn't even come out yet.

Jokes are coming in, with some likening her performance to an AI-generated villain, and others wondering how the Evil Queen will be intimidating if she looks like she is going to forget her next line.

One X user (@sigmatic_) stated:

"Gal Gadot's inability to emote beyond a blank stare is hilarious."

If looks could kill… well, we would need a little more expression first.

Another user (@debayo_xx) added:

"Gal gadot cannot act for s**t oh my god."

Her performance is so frozen, that Elsa might sue for copyright. (no pun intended)

A user (@IzzLatif) mentioned:

"This is still not out yet but I already want a refund. Thank you."

A user (@sugarshaz19) went on to say:

"God, this looks awful."

Probably exaggerating, one user (@jameskmoon_) commented:

"I lost a couple seconds of consciousness while watching this."

Snow White would put you in a coma before the apple did.

Meanwhile, a user (@CaptLuffy__) took a jab at the production as a whole, stating:

"Disney really running out of ideas like it’s a speedrun challenge."

New Disney motto: "If it exists, we’ll remake it."

A user (@KFLETCH___) predicted:

"The dislike ratio on YouTube is about to be insane."

Mirror, mirror on the wall, why is this movie disliked by all?

About Disney's live-action remake of Snow White

Disney's live-action Snow White is on the way, and things have shifted since 1937.

This time, a meek princess is not singing to woodland creatures, this version sees Rachel Zegler’s Snow White plotting to take back her kingdom from her evil stepmother (Gal Gadot), who, according to the internet, might be delivering the most expressionless villain performance.

And we are getting a brand-new love interest (Jonathan, played by Andrew Burnap) and a CGI-heavy version of the Seven Dwarfs.

They are back—just appearing a little different this time, with voice and motion-capture work by Jeremy Swift (Doc), Martin Klebba (Grumpy), Tituss Burgess (Bashful), Andrew Barth Feldman (Dopey), George Salazar (Happy), Andy Grotelueschen (Sleepy), and Jason Kravits (Sneezy).

The movie includes all-new songs by EGOT winners, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, such as a showstopping ballad titled, Waiting on a Wish.

Production and controversies

Snow White had to go through several reshoots, faced criticism over the casting, and had to make changes to the story that have ruffled some feathers.

But director Marc Webb is optimistic, building up the magic of the film and what puppeteers, voice talents, and motion-capture geniuses brought to life for this new take.

In an interview with ComicBook, he assured fans:

"I am so excited for audiences and fans around the world to see this sneak peek and to revisit the magical world of Snow White."
"Our goal has always been to honor the original animated film, and we are extremely grateful to the team of amazing artists – from puppeteers to voice actors and motion capture technicians – for bringing these magical, charming characters to life in such a unique way."

In the meantime, box office estimates are coming in, with Quorum reporting an opening weekend take of $63–$70 million.

The film is set to hit big screens on March 21, 2025.
