On March 4, 2025, Rockstar will throw a free upgrade at PC players. You get ray tracing. You get faster load times. Everybody gets upgraded graphics. GTA V is all set to have all those "next-gen" exclusives with a juicy new update.

GTA V’s free upgrade is a win for PC players, but let’s not pretend we’re not all just holding our breath for GTA 6. One X user stated:

"We got GTA V remastered remastered before GTA Vl..."

By the time GTA VI drops, we’ll be playing it on our smart fridges.

A user mentioned:

"Bruh, it's been 12 years since GTA V, we don't care anymore."

GTA VI is gonna drop right after the sun burns out.

This user's ironic comment read:

"Oh wow thanks for the 2 year delays in the updates too."

Might as well send updates by carrier pigeon.

A user suggested:

"Bro stop updating this game and just work on the new one 😭"

You can almost hear the sigh in this comment.

A user chimed in to mention:

"this is great and all like really great but we need that Trailer 2 now cmon"

This user is about to personally email Rockstar.

What’s in the loot box (except it’s free)?

For years, PC gamers watched from the sidelines while PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players paraded their "Expanded and Enhanced" versions of GTA V. But now, the wait is over, and Rockstar is finally delivering the goods.

Let’s break it down:

Ray-Traced Graphics – Say goodbye to lifeless reflections and hello to Hollywood-level lighting. Shadows, reflections, ambient occlusion, global illumination—every inch of Los Santos is about to glow up.

Performance Enhancements – Load times are getting slashed thanks to SSD optimization and DirectStorage magic. No more waiting long enough to cook a full meal while the game loads.

AI-Powered Image Enhancement – NVIDIA’s DLSS 3 and AMD’s FSR 1 and 3 are stepping in to give you crisp visuals without tanking your FPS.

New Gameplay Goodies – Hao’s Special Works is handing out vehicle upgrades, random animal encounters are making the streets wilder, and GTA+ Membership is finally hitting the PC version.

Good news: this upgrade is free. Rockstar is actually handing out an update at no extra cost.

The GTA community is eating this up, mostly because it’s about time PC players got some love.

GTA V upgrade is like an appetizer at a restaurant where everyone is impatiently waiting for the main course: GTA 6.

The latest rumor is September 17, 2025, because it’s the 12th anniversary of GTA V.

A Spanish retailer, XUruguay, leaked this date before quickly deleting it, but that hasn’t stopped the speculation.

Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, reassures everyone that GTA 6 is still set for a Fall 2025 launch. But the PC version might not show up until late 2026.

Trailer 2025

The internet is also hyped over the possibility of a second GTA 6 trailer dropping in March or April 2025.

The first trailer, released in December 2023, introduced us to the crime-ridden playground of Leonida, where we met what seems to be a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired duo.

Now, fans are desperate for more—more characters, more gameplay, and maybe even a peek at the destructible environments everyone’s been whispering about.
