Minecraft Movie has raced off the blocks to deliver an astonishing performance at the Box Office. The movie captivated the audience's attention and took the theatres by storm- this has fueled talks of a sequel in the making for the Minecraft franchise, with even director Jared Hess recently giving hints about a possible sequel.

While nothing is concrete so far, the rumors have sent the fans into a frenzy as they brace themselves for another round of blocky adventures.

Rumors of a sequel to Minecraft movie send fans into raptures

Minecraft Movie was an ambitious project by Warner Bros., but they didn't exactly bet the farm on it. Somehow, they ended up hitting the bullseye with the on-screen adaptation of the immensely popular video game. And now that they have stumbled onto a winning formula, Warner Bros. is reportedly not willing to let go.

As of today, the Minecraft Movie has officially breached the $550 million mark globally and has left the fans spellbound with its absurd plot. With the rumors about a sequel swirling on the internet, fans welcomed the news with open arms as they readied their minecarts to go into battle:

"We need to see Herobrine in the sequel", demanded one fan
"F*ck yeah, Minecraft sequel already? They better cram in Herobrine and keep Jason Momoa for the laughs - this sh*t's gonna be epic or it's straight garbage, dont hold back Warner Bros!", quipped another (via X / @_n3o__)

As soon as the whispers of Minecraft 2 hit the internet, netizens went wild with speculation, debating the possible plot and name for the coming movie. Amid the speculation, there was even some hilarity on social media, with fans suggesting some ludicrous titles.:

"Call it “Another Minecraft Movie”, joked one fan (via X / @GameRollGTA)
"And then the third, “Yet Another Minecraft Movie”, suggested another (via X / @DaveyLikesFilms)

While some were skeptical (once again), arguing over and over how lightning doesn't strike twice and questioning the logic of a sequel, others were already buzzing at the prospect. And let's be honest here: the financial success of the original makes a sequel inevitable.

Fans are wildly guessing if we are really about to see history in the making here. Is another multiverse about to be born? Forget the Avengers, there's a new MCU (Minecraft Cinematic Universe) in town:

Amid the contentious debates on X, one fan came up with an unhinged prediction for the sequel that had many fans fearing the worst:

"Sadly the movie is only 3.9 seconds long as the creeper next to them explodes in the first scene and they all die", commented the fan (via X / @angstynugget)

Fans on social media expressed disbelief at the fact that the Minecraft Movie only debuted at the box office 10 days ago, and a sequel was already in the works. One fan couldn't believe his eyes and poked fun at the absurdity of the situation:

"We're gonna get Minecraft 2 before we get Minecraft 2?"

Minecraft 2, is the video game.

The biggest reason that propelled the Minecraft Movie to great heights was the theatre-going experience, which was an absolute riot. There were stories of popcorn fights, cheering crowds, and someone even brought a live chicken to the movies to reenact the "chicken jockey" scenes with the audience! One fan quipped that the tradition will go on even with the new sequel:

"Part 2 we sneaking a motorcycle in the theatre"

Despite mixed feelings about the first film’s quality, the rumors of a sequel were lapped up eagerly by the fans who are already buzzing at the prospect. Although nothing has been confirmed by Warner Bros. yet, surely it'd be too good an opportunity to pass up, especially since the studio knows they’ve got a golden goose on their hands.

Now that Hollywood seems to have cracked the code on turning toys into treasure, we can't wait to see the next installment of the Minecraft Movie!
