The 82nd Golden Globes, on January 5, 2025, was definitely one for the books, with stand-up comedian Nikki Glaser taking to the stage all by herself. She owned the show, coming across with razor-sharp wit, sufficient self-awareness, and enough humor to crack even the most stoic celeb into a smile.

One of the night’s highlight reels was her playful roast of Timothée Chalamet. Glaser couldn’t resist poking fun at the actor, suggesting that his name sounded like something Adam Sandler would blurt out mid-skit.

Nikki Glaser then did the perfect impersonation of Sandler’s iconic voice saying “Timothée Chalamet,” and the audience was in stitches.

But Glaser wasn’t done. She turned to Sandler, sitting comfortably in the crowd, and roped him into the bit.

Sandler, being a good sport as ever, dived right into his own rendition.

Social media reacts to Adam Sandler’s “Timothée Chalamet”

The clip of Nikki Glaser and Adam Sandler’s fun spin on the name of Timothée Chalamet did not stay on the Golden Globes stage; it exploded all over social media.

Instagram was buzzing with hot takes, like one user who hilariously noted:

“Why did I think he’d be dressed in basketball shorts and not nice? 😭”

Kylie Jenner's reaction did not go unnoticed either, with someone commenting:

And let’s not forget the pièce de résistance—a GIF of Sandler doing his best Chalamet impression that’s making the rounds.

Over on X, someone summed it up with:

“Will never read his name the same again! 🤣”

Nikki Glaser’s historic hosting debut

Beyond being the first woman to host an internationally broadcasted show solo, Glaser left an imprint. The minute she stepped on the stage, she was all fired up. She started with a scathing commentary on Hollywood and then threw in just the right dose of self-deprecation.

“This feels like I finally made it... and this time all of my clothes are on,” she joked.

Glaser cleverly dubbed the Golden Globes as "Ozempic's biggest night," a sly nod to the weight-loss drug sweeping through Hollywood.

Her roast of Zendaya was a masterclass in comedic timing. While praising the actress’s performance in Dune: Part Two, Glaser added:

“I woke up for all of your scenes”

It was followed by a zing about Zendaya’s other movie, Challengers, leaving the audience in uproarious laughter:

“That movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card”.

Hollywood’s ageism wasn’t safe from Glaser’s sharp tongue either.

“If you’re a woman over 50 in a lead role, they call it a comeback. If you’re a guy over 50 in a lead role, congratulations! You’re about to play Sydney Sweeney’s boyfriend,” she deadpanned.

And let’s not forget her swipe at Joker 2, which had been widely panned.

“I'm sorry Joker 2, where's their table? Oh, they’re not here.”

Then there was her dig at Ben Affleck:

“Wicked, Queer, Nightbitch – these are not just words Ben Affleck yells [in bed], these are some of the incredible movies nominated tonight.”

Glaser couldn’t resist a jab at Hollywood’s political sway, remarking:

“You could really do anything... except tell the country who to vote for. But it's OK, you'll get 'em next time... if there is one. I'm scared.”
