Remember Lilo & Stitch - the 2002 Disney animated film about an orphaned girl named Lilo adopting Stitch, a genetically engineered alien designed for chaos who then becomes her family? Well, guess what? The beloved characters are coming back in an all-new live-action film set to release on May 23 this year, and Disney just dropped the trailer!

After watching the trailer, fans were quick to notice Pleakley, one of the beloved characters from the Lilo & Stitch universe. However, many were surprised and some even upset to see that he wasn’t a drag like in the 2002 animated movie, where his cross-dressing was one of his most endearing and hilarious qualities.

Hilarious Fan Reactions

Fans were quite amused by Pleakley’s first look in the trailer and had plenty of hilarious things to say about it.

"Remake it again," a fan demanded.

It seems Pleakley’s new look in the trailer doesn’t have this fan convinced, who now wants Disney to spend millions of dollars again to remake it. Let’s hope this doesn’t turn into a case where fans are left wanting a remake of a remake!

"Pleakley look like he just saw the cgi budget for this movie," joked another.

The trailer featured Pleakley giving a hilarious expression of both shock and fear. Maybe he just saw the massive CGI budget of the new live-action movie and completely freaked out!

Honest reactions (via @DannyWxo / X)

Looks like the live-action look of Stitch vs. Pleakley has sparked completely opposite reactions from this user. C’mon Disney, give Pleakley his cool drag swag back!

"The live-action Lilo & Stitch is either going to be a masterpiece… or the internet’s next favorite meme. No in-between. 👀🔥," a fan pointed.

Disney has sure found itself in quite a... stitch! Fans are expecting the new Lilo & Stitch live-action film to be either a masterpiece or the internet’s next favorite meme!

"Now im a bit scared to watch 😭 i feel like my kids gonna have nightmares after this," wrote another.

Now that's quite the fear to have, as this user worries that the movie might give her kids nightmares. After all, a live-action Stitch could be a lot scarier than his 2002 animated version!

Pleakley's look in the new Lilo & Stitch has certainly surprised fans. With only a few months left until the film’s release, audiences are eager to see how the character will be portrayed. Lilo & Stitch hits theaters worldwide on May 23rd.
