Marcela Iglesias, the self-proclaimed "Human Barbie," is redefining the phrase 'family ties' in the wildest way possible. At 47, Iglesias has announced her latest beauty hack: Blood transfusions from her 23-year-old son, Rodrigo.

Speaking with NY Post, Iglesias said:

“Blood transfusion is the new era of maintaining young cells in your system especially when it comes from your own son or daughter.”

Clearly, keeping it in the family moved beyond borrowing clothes or sharing Netflix passwords. This is next-level parent-child bonding.

Apparently, Rodrigo isn’t just on board; he’s psyched. He is even ready to extend this youthful offering to his 75-year-old grandma, Graciela. Iglesias shared:

“He is excited about the idea of helping his grandmother, too”.

While the rest of us are out here slathering anti-aging creams and hoping for the best, Iglesias believes these transfusions will deliver energy boosts and turbocharged healing.

“There can be many benefits from the cells of a younger donor, especially if the donor is my own son.”

Rodrigo’s involvement is framed as enthusiastic, but this is not your average helping mom with a tech issue situation.

“Rodrigo is very aware of how the procedure is performed and all the benefits of it”.

Marcela Iglesias's blood transfusion

Iglesias is not new to using unusual beauty procedures. Over the years, she has spent close to $100,000 in cosmetic surgeries for that ideal plastic look.

Now, she’s betting on blood, convinced that this plasma push will keep her feeling stronger, steadier, and more supported. She described the process in almost poetic terms:

"I have been told that your body welcomes this boost like a traveler quenched by a sip of water after a long journey."

For Iglesias, this isn’t just another beauty treatment, it’s a personal and spiritual journey.

“At the end, I should be left feeling stronger, steadier and more supported.”
“A gift shared by a quiet moment of healing in your own personal story."

Who is Marcela Iglesias?

In case you were wondering, Marcela Iglesias is from Argentina and she moved to the U.S. at 22 with a modest $3,000 and now flaunts a net worth that could make even the Kardashians take notice.

As per Truly, between real estate, stocks, and crypto, she has built an empire, all the while maintaining her million-dollar mansion in Los Angeles.

Her rise to fame involved hustle, smart investments, and the commitment to an aesthetic that’s both eye-catching and controversial.

A self-proclaimed beauty enthusiast, Iglesias spends about $1,000 per month on wellness activities that range from IV infusions, injections, vitamins, and skincare, reports Daily Mail.

The pescatarian diet and regular exercise regimen are strictly maintained, ensuring a good eight hours of sleep at night.

Meanwhile, the FDA has entered the chat

Speaking of the FDA, they’ve been less than thrilled with the trend of plasma infusions from young donors, throwing up red flags.

Back in 2019, they outright warned against these procedures, highlighting a lack of scientific backing and potential health risks.

FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb made it clear (publicly!) that there is no proven clinical benefit to these pricey treatments that some clinics tout as the elixir of youth. He warned that plasma infusions are being marketed as solutions to everything from dementia to heart disease, despite the lack of solid evidence.

The FDA’s warnings emphasize that while plasma contains proteins and clotting factors, it lacks red and white blood cells essential for bodily functions. Without these, the promise of anti-aging benefits remain largely unsubstantiated.
