Delta Force Season 2: Release date, gameplay, and more explored

The highly anticipated Delta Force Season 2: Starfall has been officially scheduled to be released on January 18, 2025, at 2:00 AM UTC.

The franchise is beloved by gamers worldwide for its roots in military gaming. Players can look forward to a bunch of new features, game modes, maps, and more. Players have a lot to look forward to in this new season of Delta Force: Hot Zone, fortifications, and the Knife Edge map, among others.

Key features of Delta Force Season 2: Starfall

New game modes

One of the standout additions in Starfall is the Hot Zone mode. It is a 3v3v3 PvPvP mode. Players need to team against one another to secure the MandelCell on the map.

The Warfare game mode also receives an update with the Fortifications feature. Players can construct structures using a hammer tool.

Here is how the studio is describing the Warfare mode of the Delta Force Season 2:

"The new fortification system hammer tool has been added. Operators can now use the hammer to build fortifications, including various types of cover and obstacles to help establish defensive lines and secure victory!"

It also adds,

"Each building action deepens the highlight outline color and awards points. Points are also awarded for completing fortifications, which appear on the map, destroying fortifications, fortifications taking damage, and kills from cover."

New maps

Two new maps have been added: Knife Edge and Trainwreck.

The knife edge is set at high altitudes. The gameplay on this map gradually exposes secrets through battles.

The studio mentions,

"Haavk accuses G.T.I. of sabotaging the dam to meddle in Ahsarah's affairs, while G.T.I. counters with accusations of a Haavkan false flag operation to seize control."

It continues:

"The Ahsarah people, however, cling to their own version of the truth. In Knife Edge, where lies hang heavy in the air, only the clash of steel and the roar of gunfire can pierce the fog and reveal the true architects of the dam's destruction!"

On the other hand, Trainwreck is set in a derailed train scene. Players will have to play through the map facing multiple obstacles.

Below is what the developers had to mention regarding this new map:

"Haavk vehemently condemns G.T.I. for the destruction of their vital mining operations and critical transport routes, while G.T.I. counters with accusations of Haavk reactivating a long-dormant secret weapons facility. Every grain of dust seems to fuel the flames of war."

Alexei Sineva Petrov

Delta Force Season 2 introduces Sineva, a new operator from the Engineer class. Sineva is equipped with a full-body shield and a gun. The shield reduces damage, deflects objects, and can knock down enemies at close range.

To unlock Sineva, players have to reach Tier 15 of the Starfall Season Pass. The best part is that the operator is a part of the free reward track.

The developers have introduced the new character of Delta Force Season 2, stating:

"Growing up in poverty, Alexei found solace in literature and music. After enlisting, he excelled in EOD missions and earned numerous commendations. Post-service, he attended university where he met his fiancée, only to lose her tragically in a terrorist attack."

It also adds,

"He joined Alpha Squad as an instructor to train recruits. After G.T.I was established, he enlisted and was deployed to Ahsarah in 2035."

More on Delta Force Season 2

Delta Force Season 2 has been featured with a new Leap mechanic. Using this, players can execute forward leaps during sprints. This also allows the players to use throwable gadgets mid-leap.

Additionally, ammo variations like the 7.62x51mm UN, Lv.2, and some adjustments to class gadgets have been made. Starfall features events like the Lunar New Year celebration, where rocket launches and detonations can be seen.

Delta Force Season 2 also features some technical upgrades, such as melee detection improvements, weapon balances, and more.

Console and mobile release updates

As per reports, the console version of Delta Force season 2 is slated for Q1 2025. However, it will not launch alongside Starfall. On the other hand, the mobile beta has been delayed.
