Yes, as of December 2024, Burger King has two fish sandwiches on their menu; the Big Fish and the Fiery Big Fish.

Founded in 1953, Burger King nearly dissolved less than six years later but several new owners and a new lease of life saw the company thrive. That was despite them struggling to do well in a market that McDonald’s had taken over completely. However, the fast-food giant eventually found its footing after its takeover by 3G Capital and their partner Berkshire Hathaway. So much so, that as of 2014, Burger King operates in almost every country in the Western Hemisphere with just over 19000 restaurants across the world.

Does Burger King have a fish sandwich?

Yes, Burger King does offer a fish sandwich as their menu features the Big Fish Sandwich and the Big Fiery Fish Sandwich. Both sandwiches contain White Alaska Pollock wrapped in crunchy panko breading that is then topped with sweet tartar sauce, crisp lettuce, and crunchy pickles and served on a toasted bun. The sandwich has been on the menu for nearly 50 years, as Burger King and its Australian franchise Hungry Jack’s have had a version of a fish sandwich on their menu since 1976.

Their first one was called The Whaler which was later renamed and reformatted as the Long Fish sandwich, then the Ocean Catch Fish fillet, and several other names before they hit on the current one.

About Burger King

Burger King is a chain of hamburger-related fast-food restaurants that was founded in 1953 as Insta-Burger King in Florida. However, the company struggled to do well and after just six years, it was on the verge of closing down before it was bought by David Edgerton and James McLamore. However, even that didn’t work and by the late 1990s, the company had changed hands at least four times before it was taken public by its latest owners in 2002.

It was then bought again after 3G Capital of Brazil acquired a majority stake alongside their partner Berkshire Hathaway in the 2010s and they started restructuring the whole company. They also merged it with Canadian-based brand Tim Hortons under a new banner named Restaurant Brands International. That changed the company’s fortunes completely and as of 2023, Burger King has over 19,000 outlets across the world. Nearly half of those are in the United States with a large majority of the outlets being franchises, in order to expand its operations.
