The Nintendo Switch 2 is dropping in 2025, and gamers are excited about the game’s new features and look. The original Switch launched in March 2017 with unique specs that made it one of the most beloved games in the world.
The Nintendo Switch boasts a design that allows it to function as a handheld console and a home console. While official information like price details, release date, and more regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 have been under wraps, rumored price tags have been making the rounds on the internet.
@DramaAlert posted one such price leak on X. According to the leak, the Nintendo Switch 2 might have a price tag of $399.99. Netizens didn’t seem impressed by the news, and it showed in the replies under the post. An x user asked:
“Who would buy that?”
Other comments echoed the same sentiment and found the rumored price to be on the high side.
“A lot more than I thought. I can’t see this pricing going down well with many people if it turns out to be true,” a user replied.
“I will pass even at $200,” a netizen stated.
“Is this just a cash grab so our old switches no longer work? Another comment read.
Some X users proposed alternatives to buying the upcoming Nintendo Switch for the rumored $399.99:
“I’m sorry but why buy this when you can buy an ROG ally and emulate switch games AND be able to play newer games like COD and Fortnite in high quality,” a comment suggested.
“400 bucks is too much tbh just buy a a Series S,” a netizen added.
“I’m good with my PS5. I’ll leave this to the obese Reddit mods,” another comment read.
Some gamers seemed to find the rumored price tag appropriate and expressed the same:
“$100 more than the original Switch launch? So far, it seems worth it. Hopefully, when the next Direct comes out, we can really see if it’s worth the price,” a netizen hoped.
“Expensive but not bad considering other gaming console prices,” an X user added.
“That’s actually good tbh. I want specs,” another comment read.
