Stanley has issued a voluntary recall of 2.6 million travel mugs after receiving 91 reports of detaching lids globally. This was due to a design flaw that caused the lids to detach unexpectedly. The bottles posed a burn risk and caused 38 burn injuries globally. The recall impacts the brand’s Switchback and Trigger Action stainless steel travel mugs.These mugs were reportedly sold between June 2016 and December 2023 and were available in global retail outlets like Walmart, Target, and Amazon. Among the reports from customers, 16 incidents and two injuries occurred in the United States, with 11 cases worldwide requiring medical attention.
