Shawn Mendes performed at the Hollywood Bowl last night. He sang multiple hits, including "Lost in Japan." The Canadian singer-songwriter first rose to global fame in the mid-2010s. He returned to Los Angeles as part of his On the Road Again tour.

"Lost in Japan" was released in 2018. As Shawn Mendes delivered his live performance, fans reacted, saying:

"He has been singing that song for years but somehow still makes it sound like a fresh heartbreak every time 😭"

Shawn Mendes was discovered on Vine in 2013. Within a few years, he topped charts with hits like "Stitches," "Treat You Better," "Mercy," and "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back." In 2022, due to mental health struggles, Mendes had to cancel his Wonder tour. His 2025 On the Road Again tour is his first since that decision.

""Lost in Japan" always hits different, but hearing it live under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl must be such a surreal, incredible vibe. I bet the whole crowd was singing along to the high notes, it’s such a dreamy, feel-good moment in his setlist. What a perfect song for an L.A. night! 🌙", penned a third.

Others also chimed in:

"All his performances are the same, he wears basic clothes, he plays the guitar.", opined a netizen.
"ending your tour in the best possible way, completely sold out and being a great artist.", lauded another.
"This is one of those moments that feels like it was directed. The perfect, spontaneous, adventurous song. The iconic, legendary, Hollywood-dream venue. The artist at the absolute peak of his powers. This isn't just a performance. It is the final scene of the movie where the hero realizes he's finally made it.", stated a third.

Earlier, Mendes had taken the On the Road Again tour north to Vancouver's Rogers Arena. There, he invited Cree/Salish artist Tia Wood on stage to perform "Youth," his 2018 collaboration with Khalid. Before the song, Mendes spoke to the audience:

"My words will fall flat when describing how healing and how beautiful and how much we have to learn from the Indigenous people in this world."

Wood later wrote on social media,

"That was for my rez babies everywhere. I spoke my truth and tried to represent the best way I could."

Shawn Mendes also shared a clip on Instagram with the caption:

"This is Canada."

Mendes' On the Road Again tour has now officially ended. Fans can keep an eye on his official pages for further updates.
