Acid Bath extend 2025 reunion tour with additional Canadian show: New date, venue, and more explored

Louisiana sludge-metal pioneers Acid Bath have returned to the stage in 2025. Now, fans in Canada get another chance to see the metal legends live. The band has announced a new date in Edmonton, Alberta. This marks their second Canadian stop on this year's reunion tour.

The show is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Fan Park in the Ice District, downtown Edmonton. ANCIIENTS, Mares of Thrace, and All Hail the Yeti will join Acid Bath on the lineup. This Edmonton date extends a tour that has become arguably one of the year's most important runs in heavy music.

A mix of festivals, headlining gigs, and special one-off appearances has taken Acid Bath across North America in 2025, after reuniting in April for their first shows in 28 years.

The new Canadian show addition was announced through an official Instagram post, which read:

":: JUST ANNOUNCED :: The sludge/doom metal legends @acidbath.official have dropped a surprise ultra-rare performance in Edmonton at the @icedistrict Fan Park on Saturday, October 18, 2025. This marks one of the rare Canadian performances from a band that left its mark in the '90s with its swampy Southern sludge, psychedelic layers, and ferocious stage presence."

The post continued:

"Get ready to witness Acid Bath resurrected in the heart of downtown Edmonton with support from @anciients, @mares_of_thrace & @allhailtheyeti. Artist presale starts now. Tickets on sale tomorrow at 10am local! Ticket link in bio. Presented with @concertworks @icedistrict"

Acid Bath was formed in the early 1990s in Louisiana. The band is often regarded as one of the pioneers of Southern sludge metal. They released only two studio albums — When the Kite String Pops (1994) and Paegan Terrorism Tactics (1996). In 1997, bassist Audie Pitre and his parents were killed by a drunk driver. It tragically brought the band's original run to an end.

Despite their short time active, Acid Bath's influence was significant. In 2024, the band announced a comeback for 2025, featuring original members Dax Riggs, Sammy Duet, and Mike Sanchez, joined by Zack Simmons (Goatwhore) on drums and Alex Bergeron (Agents of Oblivion) on bass.
