AFI (A Fire Inside) has released their 12th album, Silver Bleeds the Black Sun…on October 3, 2025. The album comes three years after the release of their album, titled Bodies, which came out in June 2021.

The rock band’s latest album marks its evolution into gothic rock and ethereal soundscapes. The band, which was formed in 1991, consists of members Davey Havok (lead vocals), Adam Carson (drums), Hunter Burgan (bass), and Jade Puget (guitars).

Over the years, the band evolved from a hardcore punk band into a multifaceted rock band. The band is currently on their headline North American tour to celebrate the release of their 12th album, Silver Bleeds the Black Sun… The tour started on September 30, 2025, in Madison, Wisconsin, and wrapped up in San Diego on November 5, 2025.

It is the closing track on the album Silver Bleeds, the Black Sun’s track list. Nooneunderground has been ranked positively by the fans. One X user described it as feeling like “AFI writing a Black Sails/AOD song in 2025,” calling it “the new best AFI song post-2010.” Some called it a “perfect ending” to the album.


Marguerite

While speaking about their album to Rolling Stone, Davey Havok said:

“It’s always necessary for us to be moving in that new and fresh direction, in order to be inspired by what we’re making. In order for us to enjoy what we’re making, there has to be more. There has to be new feelings, and I didn’t know where they were going to come from.”

He said that he is excited to share it with the fans, as it is the album that has so much of his heart and soul attached to it.
