AKMU released their latest mini album, Love Episode, on June 3, 2024. The duo, consisting of siblings Lee Chan-hyuk and Lee Su-hyun, released their latest studio album way before the release of Love Episode. Sailing, their third and latest studio album, was released in 2019.

The duo talked about Sailing in an exclusive interview with Elle Korea magazine, here quoted via Soompi's article on the same, which was published on October 24, 2019, talking about the success of the album:

"In the past, we worried a lot about how to make our unique color more appealing to the mainstream public. This time, we worried less about that. Because this time, we were certain of what we wanted to do."

The duo continued:

"We released our album without worrying about those kinds of things, so we were surprised and confused when lots of people liked it. There’s a specific pleasure you feel when what you want to do [as an artist] fits together with what people want to listen to."

AKMU started their career in 2012, joining the preliminary auditions of K-pop Star 2. This was followed by their official debut after they signed with YG Entertainment. They released their debut album, Play, in the same year.

They released their second studio album, Winter, in 2017, followed by the above-mentioned third album in 2019. The duo has also released three mini-albums so far, including Love Episode.
