A Miley Cyrus fan page on X has teased a snippet of the Hannah Montana anniversary special. A clip shared on X showed the iconic wig and a 2026 release date.
This comes after Cyrus hinted at a special event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana, the hit television series that launched her into stardom.
In an interview with SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio in July 2025, the Grammy Award-winning singer stated that she was working on a special project to commemorate the show’s anniversary.
She said to the show’s host, Chris Olsen:
“I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all of this that now sits here today.”
At age 13, she began playing pop star Montana on Disney Channel in March 2006.

Miley Cyrus, who played the Hannah Montana character for over four seasons from 2006-2011, described Hannah Montana as the character that made her who she was.
"Without Hannah, there really wouldn’t be this kind of… this me. It’s so crazy to think, too, that I started as a character that I thought was going to be impossible to shed."
She described Hannah Montana as a character that was as much a part of everyone’s childhood as it was hers:
"And now that’s something that when I walk into a space, it’s looked at as this sense of nostalgia or something that you have from your childhood, but I’ve now been as kind of integrated into everyone’s life as the character itself. So that’s exciting to get to celebrate that.”
Hannah Montana was centered on Miley Stewart, who lived a double life as a schoolgirl and a pop star. The teen comedy series was the foundation for Miley's pop career.
In addition to the series, Cyrus played her real-life character and the fictional pop star in 2008’s concert movie Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert.
