KISS OF LIFE has teased the upcoming release of its special digital single, Kiss Road, on its social media accounts. The K-pop girl group, which recently found itself in the middle of a controversy, shared visuals of a highway stretch with the words “Kiss Road” and a release date of “2025.05.07” painted in white.
The song teaser came a day after the group concluded the Japan leg of their KISS ROAD world tour on April 30, 2025. The group began its first world tour in Seoul, South Korea, on October 26, 2024.
After which, they moved on to North America, performing in cities like Minneapolis, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, San Antonio, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Vancouver from November 10 to December 13, 2024. The group continued its worldwide trek in Europe.
They performed in Milan, Zurich, Vienna, London, Paris, Madrid, and Lisbon, amongst others, from February to March 2025. Their Asia tour began in Manila on April 4, 2025, and will conclude in Osaka on May 4, 2025.
KISS OF LIFE received backlash for a controversial live stream on April 2, 2025, where the group members Julie, Natty, Belle, and Haneul, whilst celebrating Julie’s birthday, were dressed in large chains, snapback hats, and cornrows associated with hip-hop and Latin culture.
They used accents and slang and called themselves names like NT, Bob Sky, and Lil Taco Belle. The livestream was widely criticized as a mockery of hip-hop and Latin culture.
KISS OF LIFE issued a handwritten apology on April 5, 2025, promising to do better and stating that they had spent days “learning and reflecting how our actions have disappointed many of their fans.
Fans react to KISS OF LIFE’s teaser for the upcoming special digital single Kiss Road
Popular South Korean music news outlet @kchartsmaster shared visuals of the teaser from the girl group, and @bichotasseason tweeted their support for the girl group with a cheeky response.
“Another one to end blackpink.”
Other fans of KISS OF LIFE expressed their support for the group, although in a less controversial manner:
“We forgive and stand with the girls. They could never make me hate y’all,” @notnijiatall expressed.
“KISS OF LIFE’s Kiss Road single is 2025’s boldest K-pop drop. May 7th can’t come soon enough,” @leo_Zen00 gushed.
Another fan addressed the naysayers in the comments:
"For those who are saying, "We don't care,” then why are you commenting on this post? Not saying what they did was right, but 1) two apologies have been issued, 2) a LOT of misinformation/ mistranslation was spread without fact-checking. If you still don't want them, plz move on, no?” @azecacal stated.
Other X users who have not gotten over KISS OF LIFE's birthday live stream scandal tweeted the following:
“Their bravery to release smth. No one’s streaming them anymore. That’s what they get for being racist,” @jesyqueenson expressed.
“Better be an apology song,” @Atharva_Sanap12 added.
“Can’t look at these girls the same. They just seem mean AF,” @ShakeitoutGreen tweeted.
Kiss Road will be released on May 7, 2025. Meanwhile, the group will continue its world tour in Osaka on May 2, 2025.
