Did singer and songwriter Billie Eilish attend the 2025 Met Gala? It's been a couple of days since the curtains to the fashion event were drawn, but the drama continues. Billie Eilish posted a story on Instagram on May 14 and clapped back at trolls criticizing her Met Gala look. In a short clip, the Bad Guy singer said,

“Seeing people talk about what I wore to this year's Met Gala being ‘trash.”

She added while eating an ice cream,

“I wasn’t there!”

After having a hearty laugh, she continued to say,

“That’s AI! I had a show in Europe that night. Let me be! I wasn’t even there!”

The post reportedly came after the singer received backlash for a photo created by AI. The singer clarified that she was in Amsterdam, Europe, for her May 4 and May 5 shows, which coincided with the Met Gala on May 5.

Billie Eilish is clapping back at trolls who believed she was at the 2025 Met Gala. The singer is currently on her Hit Me Hard And Soft tour, which is scheduled to wrap up in July. The singer had a hearty laugh and clarified that she was performing in Amsterdam at the time of the event.

Additionally, she requested her fans and followers to spare her from the negative comments. This isn't the first time followers have targeted Billie's fashion choices, but Billie was left shocked after she became aware that the Internet is trolling AI images.

It is not uncommon for AI-generated pictures to go viral following their absence at red carpet events. It might have been the first for Billie, but it has happened twice for singer Katy Perry. This time around, the singer posted the AI pictures of herself at the event on Instagram (@katyperry) and provided her fans with clarification. She wrote,

"Couldn’t make it to the MET, I’m on The Lifetimes Tour (see you in Houston tomorrow IRL‼️)

She added,

"P.s. this year I was actually with my mom so she’s safe from the bots but I’m praying for the rest of y’all."

While Billie Eilish and Katy Perry didn't attend this year's Met Gala and were respectively on their tours, AI bots convinced fans that they were present. While Billie laughed the trolls off, fans expressed concern that it can be difficult to differentiate between real and AI-generated images.
