More details on Billy Joel’s health condition
In the People’s interview published on July 21, Billy Joel spoke about how he was okay and undergoing specific physical therapy per his doctor’s instructions. He said he didn't want people to be worried about him and his health, stressing that he was okay.
“I know a lot of people are worried about me and my health, but I’m okay.”
He also spoke about the rarity of his condition. Normal pressure hydrocephalus, popularly referred to as NPH, is a condition where excess cerebrospinal fluid builds up in the brain ventricles.
“What I have is something very few people know about, including me, no matter how much you try to research it. I’m doing my best to work with it and to recover from it.”
Billy Joel, often known as the Piano Man, revealed that the most difficult aspect of his illness is the impact on his balance, which was the first sign indicating that something might be wrong.
“It was like being on a boat all the time,” he likens the feeling to being on water.
