The MTV Video Music Awards 2025 are upon us, and as we look back at the various achievements that music powerhouses have had over the years, one such foreign power source comes to mind. Straight from South Korea, K-pop group BTS has apparently set a record with 4 wins in the ‘Best Group’ category, making VMAs history.

BTS has been nominated at the VMAs 21 times over the years, ever since the Hallyu Wave brought them over from across the ocean, and out of those 21, the group has won 10 awards.

In these 10 awards, they received their "Group of the year" award, which they received for four consecutive years from 2019-2022. Along with that, in those four years, the group has won other awards like Best K-Pop three years in a row, Best Choreography, Best Pop, Song of the Summer, and more.

Internet reacts to BTS' feat

BTS Army was overjoyed after hearing the news, as they expressed their joy and well-wishes for the seven members on social media.

One user said,

"So we’re just gonna ignore the fact they carried K-pop to the West?"

Another exclaimed,

"BTS DOMINATION 🤯 4 Best Group wins at the VMAs is just the tip of the iceberg! Their influence goes beyond just music - they're breaking cultural barriers, spreading love & positivity, and inspiring a whole generation. No one can touch the Bangtan boys! 💜🔥 Who's next to challenge their reign?"

And another Army shared the same sentiment,

"Records become legends when they’re repeated. BTS holding the most ‘Best Group’ wins in VMA history proves they didn’t just join pop culture - they reshaped it. Some groups don’t follow the trend, they ARE the trend."

One fan also said,

"A historic achievement! This isn't just about the wins, but about the legacy they've built and the way they've changed the global music scene."

However, not everyone shared the sentiment or their excitement over the achievement, as some users expressed that the group isn't deserving of the accolades.

One user commented,

"Every one UNDESERVED. They are a music industry '"wink wink nudge nudge" joke unleashed upon the public."

While another stated,

"They weren’t around when backstreet boys were. That’s why"

The seven members have been recuperating and taking it easy ever since they got discharged from the army. As they recover and take things slow in terms of their music, the band does not want to rush anything and is preparing for new music and a possible tour in 2026.
