Cardi B has officially announced the release of her forthcoming album, Am I the Drama? Set for release on September 19, 2025, the album represents seven years of artistic evolution since her Grammy-winning debut Invasion of Privacy dropped in 2018. The album will have 23 tracks in total, with songs such as WAP, Up, and the recently released Outside also being part of it.

The announcement also came with an album cover, which depicts Cardi B being surrounded by hundreds of crows while wearing a red outfit. One of the crows is even pictured sitting on her leg, which adds to the theatrics and intensity of the poster. The past couple of years have witnessed a sea of change in the rapper's life, and she shared her delight and relief with the fans in the clip posted on social media.

In the clip, she was quoted as saying:

"Seven years and the moment has arrived. Seven years filled with love, light, and loss. I granted them grace for seven years, but now it’s time to bring the heat. I’ve learned that power isn’t about giving; it’s about taking. I’m shedding my past and no longer shedding tears. I’m not just back; I’m beyond. I’m not your antagonist; I’m your reckoning. The moment is here. The moment is now."

The inclusion of hits like WAP and Up alongside new material positions the album as both a celebration of her past successes and a statement of her current artistic evolution. The other track, Outside, while not as successful on account of being a relatively recent release, has also been added as part of the album. The track is aimed as a slight on her estranged husband Offset, and has been well received by fans.

There had been speculation for months leading up to the release of her latest song, Outside, but it kept getting put on the back burner. The reason for the delay was reportedly cited as Cardi B having to wait for contributions from featured artists on the song. Amid the fan clamor to release the track, she addressed the concerns in an Instagram post in which she said:

"I really need these f–king features. And it’s like I’m not really trying to press or go crazy on these artists because I love them down. But it’s like come on now! I need that! I need that right now! Helloooo! Y’all don’t want to miss this opportunity. I’ll sing this s–t myself! But I really need y’all and I need y’all to hurry up and I love y’all. I feel like nobody want to miss being on this album."

While Invasion of Privacy was always going to be a tough act to follow, the seven-year wait has been agonizing for many, including Cardi B herself. She has been forced to contend with a number of problems in the process, including personal and professional challenges. But the fans are now on the verge of having their wishes met in the coming album she is set to release.

While the full setlist for Am I the Drama? has not yet been released, the excitement amongst fans is palpable for Cardi B's next album release.
