Here is what we know about Cody Simpson as he makes his comeback to music.
Cody Simpson revives his music career after a break
Cody Simpson revived his music career in 2025 after taking a break to pursue professional swimming in Australia.
While answering the most asked question from his fans, “Where did you go?” Simpson shared clips of his swimming lessons, him doing pull-ups in a gym, and doing laps in a pool. He joined the Australian Swim Team in 2022 after competing in the Australian Swimming Championships in Adelaide, according to E! News.
When he returned to music earlier this year in January, Simpson did it with his same music manager with whom he had collaborated in his teens. He shot to fame after record producer Shawn Campbell came across his songs on YouTube in 2010. He released his first single, “iYiYi” featuring Flo Rida.
This was followed by the release of his full-length album, Paradise, in 2012. The album reportedly peaked at No. 27 in the US and No. 31 in Australia.
In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Cody Simpson shared that the significance of goals in his life is whether it is music or sports. He told the outlet:
“I love being able to wake up wanting to work towards something. It keeps me going, keeps me optimistic, and gets me out of bed.”
He further added:
“I think in a lot of ways, I’m just a doer, and I think if something speaks to me, I’m typically pretty quick to want to bring forth something into reality, or spring into action. Everything I’ve ever done has always made sense to me in that moment.”
Simpson is best known for his hits such as La Da Dee and Home to Mama, was discovered as a 12-year-old kid from Australia on MySpace and YouTube who posted songs composed by him, according to his Instagram post.
In 2012, he released his mixtape called Angels & Gentlemen. In his post, Simpson added that while waiting for the release of his comeback project, he will be sharing covers on YouTube “as another little mixtape series: ANGELS & GENTLEMEN VOL II.” At that time, Simpson released the first instalment, Die Trying.
Cody Simpson is currently splitting his time between home and California, where he is working on his new project, which is due to be released next year.
