Daniel Johns 2025 'In Conversation' Australian tour: Presale, dates, venues, and more explored

Daniel Johns is officially set to return to the stage for the first time in five years. His upcoming In Conversation: What If The Future Never Happened? The tour will feature film, storytelling, and music. Four intimate shows have been scheduled across Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, and Melbourne for November 2025.

Fans will see the worldwide premiere of Daniel Johns' semi-autobiographical featurette What If The Future Never Happened?. Moreover, he will also share unreleased Silverchair demos and perform new solo material.

This newly announced tour is being presented by Frontier Touring. The run will feature screenings of the short film, which is directed by James Medlam. It will be followed by an on-stage conversation with Johns. Fans can submit questions ahead of time.

Daniel Johns took to his official Instagram account to announce the upcoming 2025 trek, captioning:

"Child fame is a funny thing. There is a fleeting moment, an ‘in between’ where you know everything is about to change. It’s scary, it’s exciting, it’s irreversible. Before frogstomp and before silverchair became popular there was a 14 year old boy in Newcastle writing riffs and songs. ‘What If The Future Never Happened?’ is a story told through the anamorphic lens of the human memory. A lens that is distorted , surreal and honest at them same time."

The post continued:

"A biopsy rather than a biopic After some time away from the spotlight, I’m nervous and excited about premiering the Featurette in some of Australia’s most iconic theatres, I’ll also join you in person to talk music and open up my demo vault to play music I’ve written over the last 3 decades. Daniel Johns rose to fame as the frontman of Silverchair. The group is one of Australia's most beloved rock acts. The band debuted with Frogstomp in 1995. They released five more studio albums, including Neon Ballroom (1999), Diorama (2002), and Young Modern (2007).

Daniel Johns also pursued projects such as The Dissociatives (with Paul Mac), DREAMS (with Luke Steele), and other collaborations, including electronic music and orchestral arrangements. His 2022 solo album FutureNever topped the ARIA charts twice. It was that year's highest-selling Australian release.
