A post on X (formerly Twitter) has gone viral, claiming that Adele has confirmed to headline the Super Bowl LX halftime show.

An account which goes by the username @RLDION on X has shared the post along with an image of the singer in one slide, and a screenshot seemingly taken from her Instagram with a quote, which reads:

"Superbowl 2026, Chin up eh"

However, the news is fabricated as neither the singer nor the NFL has confirmed the news, as of the writing of this article. The screengrab seems to be a fan-made post as Adele has not shared any similar posts on her Instagram. The bio of the X user @RLDION, who made the post, also states that it is a fan account and is not affiliated with the singer.

While there has been no official confirmation, multiple reports in the past few days have claimed that Adele is in talks to headline the Super Bowl event, scheduled to be held on February 8, 2026, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. The Easy On Me singer has been listed as a top contender alongside Taylor Swift, Doja Cat, and Miley Cyrus.

Here are more details.

Adele in talks to headline 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show

According to a September 2025 report shared by E! News, Adele has been approached to headline the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Adele had earlier attended the event as a fan to watch Rihanna’s performance during the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023.

She previously told her fans during a concert in Los Angeles, back in 2016, that she declined the opportunity to headline the show. As per another report in E! News, the British artist said:

“First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl. I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really. I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no. I’m sorry, but maybe next time.”

Also, the NFL and Pepsi, the longtime sponsor of the Super Bowl halftime show, denied extending a formal offer to the 37-year-old singer in 2016. They shared a statement stating:

“We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl half-time show… However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else.”

Speaking of the other contenders of the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, such as Taylor Swift, her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and her frequent game appearances have tied her to the event.

Also, Miley Cyrus has a history with the NFL. This includes her performance at the 2021 TikTok Tailgate event before Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Florida. During that time, she shared the stage with Joan Jett and Billy Idol.

On the other hand, Doja Cat has also been associated with the Super Bowl commercials. She was also seen headlining the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final, where her performance was praised by the fans.

In 2024, the NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation, who are the organizers of the Super Bowl Halftime Show, announced their headliner for the event (Kendrick Lamar) on September 8. The event was officially held in February 2025 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

However, this year, the final announcement for the event is yet to be made by the organizers.
