Die Spitz are officially set to hit the road in support of their debut full-length album, Something to Consume, which is slated to be released on September 12, 2025, via Third Man Records.
Die Spitz have a relatively busy year in 2025. They are currently touring Europe and making festival stops. The Austin-based quartet is also gearing up for a full-fledged North American tour. It will kick off in October and stretch into late November 2025.
Fans across the US and Canada will have the chance to catch the band’s live sound. Their music spans punk, metal, hardcore, and alternative rock genres.
Die Spitz announced the upcoming 2025 U.S. tour via an official Instagram post, which read:
"Our big new debut album is coming out September 12th. It is a big soup bowl of songs for your consumption, evidently called 'Something to Consume'. Our first single Throw Yourself to the Sword is out today on all streaming platforms, along with the music video, which you can consume through the link in our bio. We will be playing this big feast of songs for you on our headline album tour as well. Don't ruin your appetite."
Die Spitz consist of Ava Schrobilgen, Chloe De St. Aubin, Ellie Livingston, and Kate Halter. They first made waves in Austin’s DIY scene. Since forming in 2022, the band has supported tours for Amyl and the Sniffers and Sleater-Kinney, among others. They have also self-released some tracks before signing to Third Man Records.
Produced by Will Yip at Studio 4, Something to Consume is expected to start a new chapter for Die Spitz. The record is described by the band as “an album experience for everyone.” The lead single is Throw Yourself to the Sword. Ellie Livingston mentioned in a statement:
"There is a political side to it, but addiction and love can also be all-consuming. Something to Consume is an album experience for everyone. Whether you are craving a smack of lively metal or a melancholy wave of grungey violin, there is a piece of all of us injected. Something to Consume is a call to the multitudes of ways we as humans allow consumption to enrapture our culture as well as ourselves."
Livingston continued to speak about the upcoming album’s lead single:
"'Throw Yourself to the Sword' is a high-energy ode to what we want young people to feel. There is a lot of existentialism and despair in other songs on the album that still sheath the same theme, but 'Throw Yourself to the Sword' is the raise of optimism. Despite living in a state of mundanity or hopelessness, you can still rise up and fight the unknown, as long as you are willing to throw yourself to it."
Die Spitz’s Chloe De St. Aubin added:
"Some people are not interested in being political activists via music, but it weighs on me heavily and I feel misaligned with my calling if I don't. The four of us are free spirits with multiple interests, and there is no limit or power dynamic that can derail us."
