Doechii’s first-ever performance in Canada was a combination of fierce energy, flawless rapping, and an electrifying set list. The 26-year-old American rapper and singer took the stage at Osheaga and delivered a powerful performance.
She started off her show by hyping up her crowd, asking: “What the f*ck is good?” before launching into her performance. She began her forty-five-minute performance with the popular track Nosebleed.
“This is my first time in Canada! Before we get into the new shit, let's play something old,” Doechii said as the crowd hollered and booted.
She then dived into two of her hit songs Spookie Coochie and Bitch I'm Nice.
In the middle of her set, the Anxiety rapper gave her fans a shoutout.
“As an artist, you can get so much hate and negativity. Then you go out in real life and see your real fans.”
She also appreciated her gay, female, and couple fans.
“If your boyfriend hates female rappers, then leave him immediately.”
Using the platform, the Swamp Princess also advocated for Palestine:
“Ya’ll can’t be scared to stand up for what you believe in, you can’t be scared to say what matters. Free Palestine,” she said.
The highlight of Doechii’s Canada debut was her performance of the successful hit song Denial is a River. Unfortunately, Doechio’s performance was cut short after it dragged into Osheaga’s 11 p.m. noise curfew. After yelling, “F*ck that, they cut me off!” the Swarm Princess gave a thumbs down and walked off the stage. Doechii was scheduled to begin her performance at 9:55 pm, but started by 10:05 pm and ended fifty-five minutes later at 11:00 pm.
