Suge Knight recently had an interview with Art of Dialogue. During said interview, the singer called out Drake over his recent Tupac pendant purchase, claiming that the pendant was fake. The former Death Row Records CEO stated:

"Well, I'm quite sure it's not true. When I came up with the idea to make the Death Row chain—one, it had never been done before. Two, it was like wearing a, you know, it was like having your flag, your rag."

Knight continued:

"You can't tuck it, It means something. That's not 2Pac’s chain. It's not a Death Row chain. Whoever sold you that chain, Drake, you need to go beat his motherfu***ng a**. Crazy."

To clarify, on August 24, 2025, Drake posted a picture of a Death Row Records necklace and pendant, which subsequently triggered an authenticity debate online. Drake already possesses a Tupac jewellery piece, the Tupac Jesus Piece.

Contrary to Suge Knight, artifact collector Alexander Bitar stated in a statement to XXL Magazine on August 25, 2025, that the pendant was in fact authentic:

"Tupac owned multiple Death Row Records pendants—while the exact number is unknown, it was certainly not very large. Some pendants had slight variations, such as differences in stone settings or the bail. There is photographic evidence showing him wearing pendants with these minor distinctions. Overall, they all share the same design, but with subtle differences. This is why the Instagram post you referenced is inaccurate."

Drake has not responded to the authenticity debate

As of the writing of this article, Drake himself has not responded to the authenticity debate. The singer's last post regarding the matter remains the picture of the necklace.

As mentioned above, Drake already possesses another Tupac jewellery piece, alongside a number of other items worth millions of dollars. Alongside his acquisition of the new piece, the singer has also been in the news for opening an Amazon merch warehouse.

The singer is currently embarked on his Europe tour, which will wrap up in September 2025:
