As mentioned above, fromis_9 released a new album, From Our 20's. The group talked about their new album and their comeback in the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar Korea. The interview is here quoted as reported in Soompi's article on the matter on May 23, 2025. Song Hayoung stated:
"Every step was a new challenge. I didn’t want anyone to feel like something was missing just because we have fewer members, and I kept thinking about how great it would be if the stage still looked full."
Baek Jiheon elaborated on her thoughts regarding the album:
“When I think of this album, I imagine the kind of ocean that everyone dreams of. Both the title track and the B-sides have a much more free-spirited vibe. While maintaining fromis_9’s signature sound—full of positive energy—we focused a lot on the question, ‘What kind of newness can we show with just the five of us?’”
Lee Nagyung later added:
“There are a lot of songs in the new album with band sounds. I’d love to try a rock band-style performance at least once."
fromis_9 was formed during the 2017 season of the talent show, Idol School. The name of the group was suggested by fans and selected by CJ E&M. The group initially consisted of nine members: Song Ha-young, Park Ji-won, Lee Chae-young, Lee Na-gyung, Baek Ji-heon, as well as Jang Gyu-ri, Lee Sae-rom, Roh Ji-sun, and Lee Seo-yeon.
The group, at the time of their debut, was under the management of Pledis Entertainment. This was followed by a period under the management of Off The Record till 2021, when they returned to be under the management of Pledis Entertainment. Jang Gyu-ri left the group in 2023.
