Reports of BLACKPINK releasing a new full-length album this December have sent the internet into a frenzy. The buzz began after multiple South Korean media outlets stated that the group is reportedly preparing for a comeback in mid-December.

The reports arrive months after BLACKPINK released their digital single, JUMP, which was their first group project in three years. The girl group is currently in the middle of their "Deadline" world tour, which has taken them across North America and Europe. Upcoming shows are scheduled throughout Asia.

Notably, YG Entertainment issued a brief statement to Korean outlets, saying:

"Nothing has been decided regarding the group's comeback."

Despite this, fans online are speculating about the alleged album and its December release. One such user stated:

""Full length album," you mean full global shutdown. 🔥"

Netizens' reactions to reports of BLACKPINK dropping a full-length album in December

Pop Base took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to post that,

"BLACKPINK will reportedly make a comeback with a full length album in December."

Fans soon weighed in on the comment section of the X post as they shared their thoughts about BLACKPINK's alleged new album. Below are some of their reactions:

"and by FULL LENGTH they better mean more than eight songs it’s been YEARS 😭 but finally THE QUEENS are coming back everyone should be SCARED", declared a netizen.
"Tracklist : - bam bidi bam bam - durum dum dum dum - ta rara ta ta. And all lyrics in english NOT A KOREAN WORD ON SIGHT", joked another.
"Blackpink makes a “comeback” every 3 to 5 business days😂", noted a third.

Others also chimed in:

"CANCEL CHRISTMAS RIGHT NOW. we went thru this with APT. i’m not doing it again NO 😭", stated a fan.
"jump probably in there so we are getting 7 new songs as a group or 3 songs as a group and 4 solos in one album", speculated another.
"While there is no official confirmation from YG Entertainment, there are reports that BLACKPINK may promote their upcoming mini-album on music shows. However, the extent of these promotions is uncertain due to their demanding tour schedule and YG's historical approach to promotions. Factors supporting music show appearances: Insiders indicate possibility: Reports surfaced in August 2025 that the group planned to pursue "possible music show broadcast promotions" alongside their November comeback. Pre-album break: The group took a two-month break from their world tour in September and October to finalize the mini-album and other activities, which could have included preparations for music show stages. Factors limiting music show appearances. Ongoing tour schedule: BLACKPINK is still in the middle of their "DEADLINE" world tour, with tour dates scheduled throughout November, including performances in Jakarta and the Philippines. This limited availability will likely affect the number of shows they can attend. YG's historical strategy: YG Entertainment has historically pursued a more selective promotional approach for BLACKPINK compared to other K-pop groups. Their members' schedules are packed with high-end brand deals, and their group promotions have often been more limited than fans desired. Official silence: YG Entertainment has not confirmed any specific promotional schedule, stating only that details would be released through official channels later. Given these factors, it is unlikely BLACKPINK will appear on every weekly music show. If they do promote on music shows, it would likely be a limited number of performances for their title track.", penned a third.

According to reports from Xports News, the girl group has been working on a new album while touring globally. They allegedly have plans to release it in mid-December. The group's digital single JUMP was reportedly the pre-release track to this full-length album.
