In an interview, Doja Cat called her 2023 album Scarlet "a fart." It created waves of notable online conversation. Now, the artist has clarified what she really meant, and fans are again taking to social media to respond.
Speaking in a follow-up statement, Doja Cat explained:
"I meant that it was a release and a relief for me. I was not saying that it was bad. When you fart, it feels good, you feel better. You are releasing gas. And, to me, that album was gas."
Fans reacted to this, saying:
"Girl this album is one of ur best works wdym it's a "fart""
Internet reactions to Doja Cat's explanation of calling 'Scarlet' a "fart"
Pop Base took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to share that,
"Doja Cat clarifies calling her album 'Scarlet' a "fart": "When I said that, I meant that it was a release and a relief for me. I was not saying that it was bad. When you fart it feels good, you feel better, you are releasing gas, and to me that album was gas.""
Fans were notably quick to weigh in on the comment section of the post as they penned their reactions. Below are some of their remarks:
"Our bad Doja 😅 glad you got Scarlet out!!", joked an X user.
"That is a fire analogy, Doja! Scarlet was a whole vibe.", commented another.
"scarlet is her best album BY far. a cohesive and beautiful body of work and i am sad not everyone got it", declared a third.
Others also chimed in:
"Doja Cat could explain anything with bathroom analogies and somehow make it sound profound 😭💨", stated a fan.
"Ah, that makes sense 😅 So "Scarlet" = gas, but in the good way, Doja Cat is just saying it was a release and felt good creatively.", shared another.
"Art isn't always polished, it;s personal. Doja Cat turning her album into a "fart" metaphor shows creativity can be raw, weird, and still hit the charts. 😅", opined a third.
