Cardi B is gearing up for her next musical era.

Weeks after the release of her second studio album, Am I the Drama?, the Grammy-winning rapper confirmed she is planning to release her third project in less than a year. Notably, there was a seven-year gap between her debut and her second album.

During a recent X Spaces session, the rapper addressed her fans to clarify that she has no intention of releasing a deluxe or remix version of Am I the Drama?. Instead, she is planning for a new era. Cardi B said,

"I see you guys asking for a deluxe or asking to do a remix album like Charli XCX or something. Unfortunately, I am not doing none of that. What I gave y'all is what y’all getting. I want to put out a project, another album, in less than a year. So I’m really planning on that. I want a new era. I kinda know what I want it to look like. It’s gonna be different from Am I the Drama?"

One netizen reacted to her statement, saying:

"it's gonna flop like the last one 😂"

Pop Crave took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to share that,

"Cardi B says she plans to release a new album soon: “I want to put out a project, another album, in less than a year. So I’m really planning on that. I want a new era, I kinda know what I want it to look like. It’s gonna be different from ‘AM I THE DRAMA?’”"

Netizens did not wait long before jumping into the comment section of the X post as they penned their reactions to Cardi B's statement. Below are some of their remarks:

"The last one took 5 years? she lying 😭😭😭", declared an X user.
"Less than a year? In Cardi B time that's like 3-4 years minimum. Set your calendars for 2028 📅", stated another.
"Aye, go on then! If it’s anything like your last one, we are in for a treat, just make sure it’s got a bit of that Cardi sparkle we all love. What’s the vibe you’re aiming for this time?", commented a third.

Others also chimed in:

"LMAOOOOOOOO SHE WANNA MOVE ON FROM THIS FLOP ERA IM CRYING", penned a netizen.
"Cardi B gearing up for a fresh era sounds exciting. She always knows how to flip her sound and energy when it’s time.", wrote another.
"atp please do it Cardi B and let it be ALL NEW SONGS because I am tired of people crying about "WAP" and "UP" so when you do well on the 3rd Album nobody should be crying about old songs.", opined a third.

Am I the Drama? was Cardi B's return to music in September 2025. It followed her debut Invasion of Privacy in 2018. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 200,000 equivalent units in its first week. It featured collaborations with Tyla, Selena Gomez, Janet Jackson, and Lizzo, and included beloved singles such as Outside, Imaginary Playerz, and Safe featuring Kehlani.

On the other hand, the rapper's Little Miss Drama Tour, which is her first official headlining tour, will kick off in February 2026. In a recent interview with CBS Mornings, Cardi B said she is preparing for the tour:

"I am very ready. I am getting my body ready. I stretch it out. As soon as I give birth, the tour rehearsal starts."
