Freddie Gibbs recently released his collaborative album with The Alchemist, Alfredo 2, on July 25, 2025. In the album's track "Lavish Habits," the singer dissed Gunna and Akademiks, singing:
"I'm still gon' squeeze Akademiks t*tties, that fat b*st**d. Gunna dissed me and took a plea, he a rat b*st**d."
This diss against the two artists has become viral, causing the internet to react. Some claimed that the singer was trying to become more famous, like Kendrick Lamar, with his Drake beef:
"He trying to get his Kendrick moment."
Others commented on the track and its lyrics, while some also commented on what they perceived to be the current state of rap music:
"Lmao rap game is just cray rn. Everybody tweaking on everybody," one netizen stated.

Freddie Gibbs's Alfredo 2 is a sequel to 2020's Alfredo
Freddie Gibbs's Alfredo 2 is the sequel to his and The Alchemist's 2020 album Alfredo. Alfredo was a highly successful album and went on to be nominated for the Best Rap Album award at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
Alfredo 2 features three acts and a total of 14 tracks. The album has collaborations with Anderson. Paak, Larry June, and J.I.D. The tracklist for the album is listed below:

Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist also released a short film based on the album, titled Alfredo the Movie. The short film is currently available for viewing on the official YouTube page of Gibbs. In a recent screening of the short film hosted by TMZ on July 18, 2025, the singer elaborated on the album and its release, stating:
"I wanted to give it all to you full circle. It personally took a lot for me to get back to even want to give y'all this album. From a personal standpoint, the visual s**t kind of shows you what a n***a climbed through and been through. I wanted to give y'all something extra. I ain't just wanna just give y'all 10 songs on a Friday. I wanted to give y'all a whole experience."
Freddie Gibbs also has a number of other collaborations in his career. His first collaboration was with Statik Selektah on the EP Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away.
He collaborated with Madlib on the album Piñata. Subsequently, he collaborated with Curren$y and the Alchemist on the album Fetti. The singer then again collaborated with Madlib on the album Bandana.
In his solo career, Gibbs has released a total of six studio albums, with his latest album being 2024's You Only Die 1nce. The singer is also known for his acting career. Gibbs has acted in the shows Bust Down, Power Book IV: Force, and Wu-Tang: An American Saga. He also acted in Down with the King and is set to star in Night Patrol.
